Just found an 82 Stinger in the back of a shop ouside of a storage container. The outdrives have been absconded a few years ago and the boat has been sitting since the theft. By the looks of it the hull is immaculate and the boat never sat in the water for more than a week at a time from what I have heard. The interior of course needs some work and the rest of the boat is complete. The small hydrauilic lines to the outdrive need to be replacesd as the thieves cut them??? for some unknown reason?
There is an aluminum trailer with it with surge etc and the boat needs external work as it had lots of coloured stripes on it at one time and the stripes are all sun-drenched and peeling now. A little wash solvent and elbow grease will make that come off the original gellcoat.
I also found an outlet for outdrives in Florida. They are exact replicas of Mercruiser only less money (no-name) They have a five year warrenty too!!!
If anyone is intersted in this boat I will go back and take pictures for you. I don't know the owner personally, but I know the guy that works for him, and he is the one who led me on to this find. A little work and tlc and its good to go!
I understand he is looking for offers as his new Formula should be here next week so he is eager to get it out of the yeard. Located in Niagara Falls Ontario.
