prop in scorpion 21 (small block)
Dear chris craft colleagues
I owned Chris Craft Scorpion 21 Cuddy Cabin boat. That is 1987 model and good condition. I was changed boat motor Mercruiser alpha One V6 4.3 to little bit tuning (about 300 horsepower) 5.7 cid350 GM V8 in straight pipes. Do you know what is optimal prop to my boat? Now I use aluminum prop in Chris Craft and pitch are 17” and diameter 14.
Before top speed for old motor V6: 34 mph
Now (new motor): 38 mph (4600rpm) and I think that is too a little.
I think is rights top speed have been about 48 mph (42 knots).
I remember that boat was sell to that motor (small block) at new.

I had a 210 a long time ago. Boy are you lucky it doesn't have an OMC
I had a 14x21 Stainless on mine if I remember correctly? I also had a 14x19 aluminum. I found the aluminum was ok for getting up in the water quickly. Good for when I took the kids tubing etc, but there was no top end on the boat. When I put the stainless 21 on it I got awesome top end but the boat was lazy getting out of the water. This I didn't mind as I usually beat my friends in the long run!
You choice...what do you want to do mostly?
Have fun.
