I guess i should have looked at this forum sooner
I bet he only glassed it together in the spots he could reach....the rear corners of the swim platform are next to impossible to get to if you wanted to glass them together! I had to get VERY creative to get the nut off the moutnig stud to remove the grab rail....i dont see how he could have glassed it together.....and thats where i saw the light coming through!!

i have an 87 222 and have had the same situation....mine was only under about six foot and for only eight hours or so....from what i found, after about a 2 month restoration, the rub rail especially around the rear of the boat is where i was getting water in. never noticed before because the boat usually sits high enough above the water. so that happened last summer, and sad to say but this winter a tree fell on her. so im back to work on her again.....

That's a nice looking boat!

How does she run with the 496?

with a Mirage plus 4 blade 25 P it runs 68 gps at 4100 rpm and it just leaps out of the hole. I will try some other props to increase the rpm and top end but the boat used to get squirley and chine walked with the old 454/alpha at WOT
