I have never been a fan of tunnel tabs. they are great for a kilo run but they can get you into serious trouble if you make the wrong move with it. you have to remember the history of these boats. they came from the Shadow Cat that George Linder designed. he redesigned it for Chris Craft with wider sponsons to run with big blocks. even though there were some pleasure versions alot were race boats and it was started as a race boat project so manners at 40 to 80 mph was not a consideration. the Chris Cat was state of the art in its day and is still a strong running boat. I know several people with them and none have any desire to sell them so that says alot. when the boat was designed we raced actual offshore events, not the short lake races they pass off as offshore today. these boats had to run out to the light house off key west and regularly saw 5-6 foot seas and still outran bigger boats. Miss Maxon (Tim Ciasulli) came in second in the Lake Ponchetrain race running in open class after outrunning all the unlimited class boats but Popeyes and only because Al sponsored the race and Tim didnt think it would be a good idea to beat him. with 620 horses a side she should run 105 to 110 depending on props, etc. I dont recall but what drives are you running and what height? the boat is a thoroughbred and likes to run and will cruise at 100 all day and is not bothered by the water conditions. open her up and have fun.

Boat looks great. Does it need a tie bar though or is it ok with just the hyd rams? I have a tab to cruise slow and to get through the hop on my OE Cat, there is a thread on it from '02-'03 when I made mine. I make sure NOT to use it after the hop and never in big water. they will bite in and push down on the sponsons if you are not careful with them. Now air that thing out.. Video please Bill

I'm gonna air it out this weekend and try to get some video, my chase pilot has been tied up all week. I do have a steering bar you just can't see it in the pics. I want to fly the chopper myself when I shoot it but I'm very stengy with my cat.

You need to stop being a knee-grow and just let me run it so you can get some good video Or are you scared it will run faster with me on the sticks lol
