I didnít have much time in 2016.
2017 to date has been slow and steady.
Not buying off the shelf diesel power has been the biggest time killer, but it also gets so hot here in the summer that itís hard to stay motivated. I just try to knock out something, however small, every day or two. A lot of time has been spent slow rolling while learning to do certain things myself, itís faster to learn/diy than watch it sit in someoneís shop for months waiting for a few hours work. Iím lucky to have free access to large buildings. The boat hasnít spent a single day or night outside since I bought the hull.

Thank you
I just read the thread about your black Hawk 40.
Same hull. I knew of one hidden away here in Sarasota but lost track of it last year. A lot of cool boats were being built in my area in the early 80ís. I was old enough to want one but to young to afford one.

Yes the same hull just different glass layup. My Buddy in Northern Michigan bought a new 39 Stinger in 1985 and I talked to his son yesterday they still have it. My Old Hawk Is in LOTO, someone painted the entire Boat White, now I know why I was never able to find it. My Son runs a 40 Sutphen, Staggered Blower Motors # 6 Mercury Drives. I guess growing up around Offshore Boats made a lasting impression on him. Anyway I have mentioned your project to several people and what a fantastic job your doing on it. Keep posting some progress pictures please. Jon

Sure thing.
Iím out of town till early August but will have some time when I get back. I have a very knowledgeable Duramax guy laying out the remaining wiring now. Should wrap this up soon.
I have another pair Duramaxís in the shop Iíd like to build with stouter internals and bigger hp if these prove themselves. There are better components available now than when I started these.

Finally scored shift cable brackets for #6 tailstocks without paying Merc a small fortune.
This will complete the rigging on the strb engine so I can go ahead and reinstall the port engine and wire up to the helm, plumb the power steering pumps together and get it in the water.
