Mistress Question
 

I've noticed some Mistress' with a windsheild, and some have just the fairing. was this a difference in years, or just personal preferance? I think I've seen both on same year boats, so I'm kinda ruling that out.
Is it a different deck all together? Looks like it would be difficult to fit the large "V" of the windsheild to the same deck of the fairing models.

I happen to have just taken exact measurements of mine (1985 Mistress) from tip of bow to fairing, for a cover to be made, it measured 207" or 17' 3" ... almost exactly half of 35'. In other words from the fairing to transom should measure out 17' 9" if it is a true 35' 0"

I only mention these numbers to use for a comparison with someone who might have a mistress with a windshield and could measure theirs. I'm not sure if decks were identical ... I would think so.

Good info!
I like the look of the fairing better, but these boats aren't that easy to find these days. There's a really nice one listed, but I'm not in a position to pull the trigger.

Another question: what does your mistress weigh? Trying to figure out if I'll be able to tow it once I get it.

I don't think the ones with the faring are technicly a Mistress. These days they are refered to as a "flat deck" but I dont think thats what they were called back in the day.

The specs show the net weight as 7,000lbs. But everyone talks about how heavy they are, and 7000lbs for a 35' boat is not heavy. The one I rode in crushed waves like more than 7000lbs. What gives?

I went to the scales with mine and about 80 gallons of fuel and then back to the same scales, same spot with just the trailer and she weights 10,500

Doug, is your's an awesome?
I may have met you at the LEOPA poker run back in '99 - I met someone there that had an "Awesome", and it's the only one I've ever seen. Looks like the same graphics as his (or yours?)
Helluva a lot of weight, not sure my truck can hadnle it.
