Default Thinking of converting

I've got a 29 Baja Outlaw with 502's moded that been ripping for the last 3 years. Starting to get the itch to go bigger. I do like the Baja's but from what I've been reading the Cig's that are the same size same power are about 10mph faster. Really interested in the 38 Top Gun. If someone has 1 like a 2002 or 2003 with the hp525's can you please give me a little insight on how the handling, taking the chop and most importantly speed is.

Thanks.

We have a 2000 F2 Top Gun T/S with 525EFI / XR Drives with 2' Shorties / Stelling Extension boxes. It's not propped right but it runs 90mph @ 5000 RPM. It should run 92-93mph with the right props. A regular '03 or '04 Top Gun T/S with 525EFI's will run 86-87mph. Some say they have seen higher but I haven't seen it.

I don't know where you boat but we run the Atlantic Ocean and the boat will fly over the 3-5's without any effort.

That's some pretty impressive #'s. So crazy how a boat that is 38' long is faster then my 29 with almost equal power. I was close on buying a 40 Outlaw with hp900sc's but found out the maintainance on em is too much. They need to be rebuilt every 50-100 hrs. Could of got a good deal on it but I think gonna wait till the end of the season and try to find a Top Gun for a good price. Need something different up here, I'm from Vancouver B.C.

But each motor draws from their own tank. No switching. If one runs out there is a lever so you can draw from one tank to help you get home. My 2002 38 TG with the 575's ran 88 on GPS this past weekend with full load of gear and fuel.

I can vouch for all that is said here.

When I was on it, it was propped for speed and needed skills to get on plane .... but it was a rocket. Five guys on it, flat water cannot remember the fuel but that thing bumped the low nineties anyway.

Impressive boat.
