Roger,
I'm going down to my boat this morning. I'll measure that for you. I think it's around 4 feet, which makes a Top Gun with #6's equal to a 47' Fountain!! :D :evilb: :drink: :evilb:

48.5 inches from the transom (just underneath the transom assembly, above the notch) to the back of the propshaft.

There was a 94 with 700 aluminum donovans that Primal and I used to call Velvet Hammer but that wasn't its name. South Florida somewhere. Dr Bob and a gentleman named Nick own the red 90mph with 1000 carolina's freshened by Tommy at Cheif. NK :drink:

Did anyone ever find a picture of "Kangaroo Rat" or the "Velvet Hammer" boats. If they are still floating and adding Dr. Bob's boat, that would make 13 straight-bottomed #6 TopGuns.

Jeffrey 04-20-2007 11:48 AM

I had a pic of Kangaroo Rat somewhere. Can't seem to find the darn thing! As Nauti Kitty said - it is one bad azz TG. BIG power, heavy as heck with $40k worth of audio/video equipment, and threw a rooster tail you could see miles away!! The #6s were on boxes also.

I have a picture of it from the '05 KW worlds run from our hotel room at the Biscayne Mariott. I'll post it when I find it.

The video said '06 run but I think that was the '05 run. We were running behind them and saw them pull off rapidly and pop the engine hatch. Being good California boaters (not like all the FPC members that flew by!) we pulled over to make sure everything was ok. They were really nice, said they had some water pump issue or something. They limped in from there, we were right outside Gilberts (key largo).

I had thought the stereo value was higher than that they had over 1300 labor hours in it alone I found the invoice and original build objectives I found on the web along time ago. I attatched the objectives and teh last two labor invoice pages. I wish I had seen it sounded like it was real a real monster from spec says it hi 135 db YIKES. Not sure but I think the guy who did the stereo was a db champ from Texas

There is an awesome straight bottom on Lake Cumberland at State Dock. I don't have a pic but I've been told it is a '94 and it looks like a 2009. Anybody know the boat?

I know the one you refer to. It has been on here for sale once or twice. It has VI drives, and lots of orange, blue, yellow, and red paint. It is beautiful.

Sydwayz 12-15-2008 01:42 PM

Craig, just curious... Did your TG have TRS or Bravo originally? I only ever saw the boat after it came back from Cigarette.

It had Hawk 572's and #3 drives when new. I think that all kevlar hulls had #3's from the factory back then. I'm not sure if they all came with the fine corinthian leather or not. :drink::drink::eek:

I've got some pics with the original paint and radar arch:cool::party-smiley-004: I'll post them on Monday.

And there's at least one or two other I can't think of off hand. Anyone else think of the others?

What happened to "Come Fly With Me"???

Six seasons later...still love our boat. I try to do something each year to keep it fresh. New engines, drives gone through, new exhaust, new intercom system, new complete stereo system/wiring, etc..... That way I won't open my eyes one spring and realize that there is a chitload of stuff that needs to be done. This winter it's getting a new cabin and a "new style" windscreen for sure and maybe a cockpit "re-do". That may need to wait until next winter due to timing/logistics.

Here's an updated pic from this past October.

your boat is straight bad azz! What are you updating in the cabin? You re-doing and upgrading it to the mid 90's cabin or a cover girl cabin or are you just re-upholstering?

There's a white 2000 that has wet sump 6's on it out there too. Martin Marine had it for sale years ago, and I remember it having Procharged motors & a really basic paint design. I think I remember seeing it again, and it had no power.
