Hey, I'm a long time Cig fan and former Donzi owner currently running a 29 Kryptonite. I am shopping around for a either a good used Gladiator or 38 Zr Competition. I like the sit down poker run boats. Price range is 150ish. Just looking for a little input on staggered vs. non, boat charecteristics, etc. I'm not interested in any former race boats, I spent five years in an A - boat and know what we did to that boat

I like boats with rub rails.

Biggest complaint I have heard on Gladiator's is dock rash.

Jeffery's boat and the one Wild posted are by far the nicest 2 Glads out there for the money at present IMHO.

That one is nice but 150 is about the limit right now. We'll see how this year ends up if I don't make a move now....maybe by Christmas ....if the year end bonuses are good

Um, don't do that. All you need to do is have your fenders ready BEFORE you come into the dock.

what Brandon said and i also have a clear 20 mil thick 3M film that you can use to prevent dock rash. cant even tell its on there....

That's a damn good idea. I never thought of that. You could potentially do the entire side. Even parts of the deck maybe. I mean it's not going to protect against crashing into the side of the dock, but would protect from minor things.

Brandon is right, don't add a rub rail. It's all a matter of opinion but I think the lack of a rub rail is one of the many apects about the Gladiator that makes it what it is. I'm sure you've seen one in person if you're in the market for one, but without the rubrail, it makes the boat have a much more sleek look to it. The lack of a rubrail has not contributed to one scratch on my boat this summer. It doesn't take but a few minutes to bumper it up. If you just take your time you should be fine.
