Key word #2 fuel oil. AKA home heating oil/diesel fuel. Only differance is the additives to prevent it from gelling in severe cold weather.

Some of the local refineries are beginning some serious production on Biodiesel. DOW has really stepped into it pretty big, They are making a biodiesel fuel that is much more advanced that the trash can mixes of biodiesel made by the sailboaters  that have been used thus far. I am pretty sure they already have started mixing 2% biodiesel into regular diesel anyway. Using a replenish-able source such as Soybean oil and corn oils, The price of diesel fuel will not only drop, but sustain at a lower price level, and its has a flash point around 150, which means biodiesel is not even as flammable as regular diesel, so if you add all of that with the already know fact that diesels last longer, The future may be pretty bright for diesel engines and powerboats propelled by them. We have a specialty chemical processing plant that is also about to go to work processing a higher quality blend of biodiesel, If technology reaches the point that biodiesel becomes common, I got dibs on the name YO SOY, :evilb:

He put two 440HP Yanmars in a 36 Spectre and achieved 108mph in front of Bravos. What he said the problem was, is the props get too big and don't work properly. He then decided to rig the boat with Arnesons. With the surface drives its likely they will use two speed transmissions from ZF, since Mastry is a ZF distributor.

I wouldn't worry about top end. But, then again, I don't care about the top end. I just want to cruise with MINIMAL MAINTENANCE!

I had lunch with Terry and Adib a few months ago,and this is where Nortech gets their diesel set up. We tested a 43 and 50 Yan set up without 2 speeds. They got up ok but were not propped properly. We changed props and when propped with air tubes they got up in approx. 7-8 seconds without 2 speeds. Adib was somewhat aprehesive on the 2 speeds due to breakage on a few. Still need a few Q's answered on which way going.
