Question about #6 T/S Tigers
#1
A friend is looking at one and was wondering if there were any handling issues?
The reason for the question was because someone on here said that the T/S Guns with #6 drives have handling issues. And we all know if it was said on here it's true.
I have no idea about the handling issues, never been in seen or talked to anyone about them. Just recall a post awhile back about it.
Thanks for any info.

grain of salt... every one says their boa handles great
call tres or phil and get the poop.. im sure they are fine but heard there are some CG issues
as big power is in vogue i would think there would be ALOT more t/s guns w/ sixes but there arent and now they make the unlimited, the 42 "x", etc...

I'll just say I had ordered a new 04 TG TS with 900 Sterlings and Dry Sump 6's. Traded it in after four months. Bought the new 42X. Draw your own conclusions.

ok, I'm not one to usually respond, but you're right dreamer, I can only say how our boat handles and I drive it like a T/S and I'm not out doing slalom courses in it either...The good thing is I'm not breaking drives, and I guess that would be why there isn't that many #6 Guns with big power...it's only money...
GreekLightning, If I had the money I would buy a new 42X too and I'm perfectly happy with our boat.
Just my grain of salt...

Hustlethis. Please dont take my comment as a dig on your or anyone elses boat. I too do not post much but I have talked to many people who are considered experts and in the know and from what I have learned from both speaking to those individuals and my personal experience, having owned a '02 TG TS with 575's and XR's, and the '04 TG TS with big power and #6's, the TS was not made for #6's. It was designed around a Bravo drive and handles like a mo fo with the Bravo. I wish I had never sold my 575 TG. Dont get me wrong my 42X with 1075's is bad ass but I cringe at the money I would have saved had I kept that 575 boat.
Every boat is different even if its the same model with similar power. I wasnt trying to offend anyone with my statement. Just sharing personal experience. Mike F.

Not to jump in and add confusion, but the title of the post says #6 Tigers, but the post says #6 Guns. I don't have either boat (yet) but have heard that the two respond differently. I would assume that clarification is necessary to get a real answer.

I have a straight bottom Gun with #6's and 1200's. If you run any way but with the drives down all the way below 4300 rpm's....it will porpoise like Flipper.
Then again, most boats that porpoise have someone driving that is running too much trim. After 4300, well that's another story.

Thanks Mike, and like you I was just giving my small experience with my boat...If you or dreamer are ever out here on the left coast I would be happy to take you out for a ride...we could round up some of the SCOPE crew and run over to Catalina for lunch.
