While trying to sell the cig 20 pictured above, I was able to locate the original owner of the boat.
He bought it new back in the 70's. I was told by him that only three were built in 1972. He seemed to know quite a bit about them and stated that his boat came from the factory with no hull ID numbers. Apparently it was originally black, then in 1975 or so he painted it the red and white that it is today. He told me that selling his Cig 20 has been a lifetime regret for him. |

Mine was originally black also with yellow interior. I kept it as original as possible.

Very strange thread.
I started it as a means to help my friend sell his boat. After finding the original owner of the boat from when it was new, I was inspired. The boat has been sold, because I was the one who bought it. This will be my 6th boat that I will restore, but it will be my first cig. Actually it will be perfect, because at this point, I am sick of outboard engines and was thinking a small I/O that would fit in my garage yet still have a deep vee would be great. Wish me luck... :drink: |
Cig 19,
Do you still have the molded in storage compartments in the engine bay or did you cut them out? I am thinking about cutting them out for better access. |

Here's another shot of the engine compartment. Alot more room with removing the original Chris Craft manifold and going with Stainless Marine.

Ken How fast is your boat with that engine? How much horsepower does it have? |
