1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know this Bullet?
http://images.traderonline.com/img/6...74978871_1.jpg http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/7/1/74978871.htm It looks familar. If the owner is on here, I would hate to contact a broker. NADA guides say that "average retail" is $64,100. I wonder if he would take it? |
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
Craig (Oldschool) may know a tad about it :p :evilb: :D

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
That boat keeps popping up on here every couple of months.
If you are SERIOUS ready for a very nice Bullet. I may know of a perfect, updated one...E-mail me if you are ready to BUY |
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
It looks like that boat has been "for sale" for a loooooooong time. The price must still be too high.

Thanks. I PM'd Craig, and I read some old threads on the boat. Interesting stuff.
Bottom line... if the survey is good and if the price is right, I would buy it. |

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
I talked to Craig (OldSchool) today. He had some nice things to say about the boat. He really did. :p
I also talked to Curt (the owner). That talk went well. :) Craig is going to mail me his copy of the survey that was performed. I will send that to my finance officer. I am going to proceed forward. Wish me luck! :D |
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
I talked with my finance officer and got some bad news. They will only loan 90% of "low retail". The NADA "low retail" on a 1990 Bullet with 500hp engines is $56,900. 90% is $51,200. That leaves me with over $10,000 to make up, and I can't do that.
Thanks anyway guys... :( |

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
Maybe if you showed your "finance officer" some of the Claymates, maybe they would be more flexible!!! :D :D :D
Sounds to me like this finance company is not working in your favor ??? Good Luck !!! |

oh well... http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=95112 A quote: "BUYING A BOAT FOR $100k THAT HAS A BOOK VALUE OF $50k: Most Banks want to loan 80% of what the current wholesale value of any used boat. The only way to get around this to have a Marine Surveyor survey the boat and if the Survey says the current value is $100k, then most times the bank will take that value as the benchmark and not the wholesale book value." |

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
Thanks, Andy. That's a great thread.
I tried to PM DaveP, but got... DaveP has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her. I will go to the Essex Credit website and see what they have to offer. |
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader

I agree, sorta on the "Buyers Market"....They only built 68 of these things, not many of them are really nice. Most of the "Cherries" i looked at were junk in my book. I ended up paying more to get a clean boat.I think very nice boats are still moving |
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
Try Russo marine in MA. Ask for Jerry. All they need is a survey.
|
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
I personally dont believe NADA has **** to do with a boats true value. Ask OLDSCHOOL what a clean Bullet will bring!! It might say 40k NADA but I've seen that same boat sell for over 65k.

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
That 1990 Bullit you are talking about I looked at and drove in 2003 because I was thinking about buying it!! At that time Curt was asking about $95,000 for the boat, I offered him $90,000 and he countered at $91,500!! The hull at that time was in exellent shape, the motors sounded great, but there was some issues!!!!!!!!!!! Not all the new Gaffrig gages worked, for some reason there was a issue on the engine serial numbers, the electric bolsters didn't work, the biggest issue was the stainless headers were going to be removed and replaced with cast iron stock, it had K&M air filters that were not Coast Guard approved, and a few other mickey mouse things! I thought better of the deal and changed my mind and bought a cherry 28' Cigarette SS. I haven't seen the bullit lately, so I don't know what condition it's in now!!

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
90,000 the guy should have taken it and ran, I bet he is kicking himself now. You could find a nice cafe or a gun for that now.

Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
I got approval from Essex Credit to buy the Bullet.
http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-7735.html I need to get a survey done, process some paperwork, and drive to Michigan. But, it looks like I will be a Cigarette owner in February. :D |
Re: 1990 Cigarette Bullet on BoatTrader
Your welcome. :D :D :D :drink:
Seriously, congrats! Nice ride! I know there are several recommended lenders out there, but Essex struck me as truly professional in my dealings with them. The buyer of my Active Thunder used them & thats what convinced me to call them for the loan on my Cig. Prompt callbacks, attention to detail, nothing funky in the loan docs, just a class act. |
