I've never run marine rated systems in my boats and never had a problem. I live on the beach and run in the ocean all the time. However, the main reason I never ran marine stereo's is because they used to be a) more expensive b) less quality (in my opinion) and c) less varity. But now the marine stereo market is looking up in a big way. PBM just did an article on this topic and I was suprised at the quality and the varity of the stuff.

I like Kenwood alot. I think their marine stuff is a good call.

Sono***un, I've never heard of Cadence. It's weird though, stereo trends are very different from west coast to east coast. Like Zapco is pretty big on the east coast and out here it's virtually un heard of (GREAT amps by the way). And Audiobahn is HUGE out here right now but not known as well on the east coast.

I had never heard of them either until a local rep showed me their line up. Supposedly they're big in the more southern parts of the East Coast (probably why I'd never seen 'em up here in VT!) But supposedly Dr. Dre runs Cadence stuff and endorses them.

Check them out if you want at cadencesound.com.

And you're right, Audiobahn isn't really that big around here. The only companies you really see run around here are Sony, MTX, JL, and Kenwood.

I think it's time for a new system in our Gun :D

someone who knows about sound systems should start a thread on what they think is the best stuff. i am also replacing the system on my 94 top gun this winter and am lost on where to go with it. the only thing is it has to be loud because i just bought some new stellings headers, and the damn muffler switch was such a pain in the a$$. so i decided i didnt need it or the mufflers cluttering the boat up. :)
