Not from the poker run, but this is how we do it in Florida, sandbar style! The boat is a 1973 20' with a BBC and a Berkeley/American Turbine jetdrive.

Rob:
A good friend of mine worked at Cigarette in the early 70's and said that the boats were customized in Fort Lauderdale, I don't remember the name of the company though. Apparently they were delivered partially rigged and finished by that company in Lauderdale. I'm not sure if mine was a "factory" jetboat or not. I'm thinking about selling it and picking up a 24' Pantera or a 26' Corsa if I can find one cheap enough.

I spoke with Frank about the Monza already . . . toying with the idea, but I really want to find another big block boat and swap motors. I'd like to keep the 482 that I built for the 20' Cigarette, it is not well suited to the jet drive - I honestly believe a stock 454/370 would push the boat just as fast, too much parasitic loss from the jet drive for a big motor like mine.

I'm considering the 24' Pantera on the west coast, and I am going to look at a 26' Corsa in Ft. Lauderdale this week. Like I said, I'd like to swap a stock BBC back into the jet boat and put the built motor into something a bit larger. My motor was actually built up by you, at Machine World of NY in Copiague.
