Hydro's - for cruising only. Too tough on drives for Poker Runs/Big (Cig.) water!!!! Keep the B1's.

I am fooling around w/ some lab'ing via Merc. Marine/Phil. I'll post if we find a better combo than what we currently have.

My cousin has a 2005 Top Gun T/S w/525EFI XR Sportmasters with ITS running a 32p 4 blade Bravo (possibly labbed) 5200RPM best speed of 86mph in 40 degree weather and the rest of the summer it ran 83-84mph.

Previous owner of my boat ran Herring 5 blade props. He kept having numerous drive problems.
Switched to 4 blade - been 0 problems.
Sorry, this doens't help answer your question, but it may keep someone from destroying drives.

BTW: For Frankie?

Some very knowlegeable people feel that with more blades, such as 5 or 6, it is actually easier on the drives.Yes there are more blades, but they are smaller. And, the more blades, the less vibration. Who knows?

5 blade p5... not one drive issue...WAY smoother, easy to plane, 3 mph better cruise... 150rpm less than my labbed bravos, same speed!!!
