Re: hatch cover upholstery

dreamer, is correct. The normal engine hatch on a TG is a piece of wood covered with foam then the material. It is fastened on to the fiberglass shell with some lag bolts from the bottom, once the lag bolts are removed the wood will come right off. Depending on age and treatment it isn't too uncommon to have some wood damage so be prepared for that. Good luck.

No such bolts? Did you look closely? Some were counter sunk into the fiberglass and not real noticeable. Others I've seen with big heads sticking out so obviously more noticeable.

if its got a mirror, you'll need to remove the mirror and the bolts or screws will be behind the mirros

Re: hatch cover upholstery

How do the mirrors come off? Are they glued? What are they made of?
