Thumbs up Mistress Prop Selection

I wanted to know what props are being run on Mistresses with a TRS Setup. I currently run 25" Mirage plus 3 blade. I have 540's and they run 4900-5000 WOT. I want to generate a little more speed. I would like to spin 5400-5500 RPMs I guess. Should I get the 25's labbed or should I look for a different prop all together. The 25's give great midrange acceleration and cruising speed. My Prop's Rotate inward. The boat runs and planes great. It is awesome of course when it starts to get rough! Or should I just leave the setup that I have?

You have a heavy boat with a torque oriented motor. My experience is that the combination you have is pretty good. The TRS drive is very sensitive to high torque and needs to be respected or you will blow drives left and right. A little slip is good so the three blade prop you are running is a good thing. If you want to increase RPM's try a smaller pitch. Use 250 RPM increase per 1" pitch. Labbing is good but the end product is a thinner blade which does not bode well for longevity. The mirage is a nice everyday prop. If your looking to upgrade look at Hydromotive, call Tom and he can hook you up with a good combination.

Are you running the 23 hydromotive 4 blade quad + or x. I talked with Tom and he was recommending me using a 4 blade hydro instead of me lab finishing my mirage plus.

The quad is a great prop and I'm sure Tom will not steer you wrong. They get good bite. So you must watch how you come out of the hole and launching or they will eat up you drives.

That's the only thing that worries me with the torque and the 3 vs4 blade. More bite= more stress on my drives. The drives only have about 45 hours on them since they were fully rebuilt from Dollaroffshore, I'd like to keep them in one piece.

CIG3 is right on the money. Keep what you have and forget about 2-3 MPH if your lucky. My 85 Mistress had 540-590hp. I ran 25P Hydromotive 4 blades. 70.3mph @ 4900rpm WOT. Nice stern lift, and came on plane flat. Better cruising speed and the boat picked up speed with a little tab above 60mph. I lost the right hand drive twice and then took it somewhere else to be built and never had any promlems. BUT If I had it to do all over I would have run a 3 blade. We do most of are boating on Lake Michigan and as nasty as it gets sometimes it just wasn't worth the constant worry.

Thats a really nice boat you got from Monty. Very good parts went in to the motors and it should give you allot of enjoyment.
