We tried 2" shorties on our 1997 Kevlar Covergirl Gun and the boat didn't like them at all at any speed.
We then tried 4 blade Hydros we Finally settled for Bravo I props and 2 1/2" spacers netting us 1/2" deeper than stock. She doesn't porpoise and handles great. Good luck!

I tried 1.78" shorter, 1"shorter, and 1/2"shorter with P5Xs and bravo 1 props on my 93. The boat has Konrad Drives. The cruise speed suffered 4-6 MPH and top speed dropped 2 MPH. I went back to the original height. The Konrads are Great.

I am running 1" shorties on the 97 TG and no issues. I was warned by somebody (who everybody on this board knows and no one would dispute) not to go to 2's.
