What happens if you sell your tg for less than you have invested in it, and still have to eventually lower the price of your bullet later to get it gone?

Wow! 50grand for the tg. Sounds good to me.

I love the Bullet, it is a great looking boat and has apparently been well cared for and restored with a lot of care.

But I also see several slightly newer bullets with new power in very nice condition for low $40s. $20K is a LOT of money for boats that are near the same condition, almost a 50% price differential. And these boats are not "flying off the shelf", most have been for sale for several months.

I am working on a trip to look at one now, looks like it will be what I am looking for. I just need to find time when I can get out of the office for a couple days. Hope to make that trip by late next weekend.

I am not one to say what someone else's stuff is worth, expecially to them, but given the inputs I am getting this is the internal decisions this buyer is making..... hope it helps, if not ignore it...

You are not going to redo a Bullet RIGHT & sell it in the 40s....
Pretty paint & fresh power does not a resto make......
I redid mine, mostly myself & had over 65k invested in it.....
It will be cheaper to buy a nice one, like Johns & spend the $ up front
I speak from personal experiance.... :D

Has anyone ever redone a boat and got all their money back out of it? Just a question not trying to start something.

Thank you, well said. Don't know where the boats are that Dean mentioned, since when I did a search there weren't that many, and the ones in the $40s were old original boats with 454s in them. It seems he mentioned that he didn't like my flag paint job so I'm sure that is a factor.

Here is a cheap bullet for sale.
The engines would take $7000x2 to build them up right w/ exhausts.
Throw in another $18-20g for bravos.
And another 10-15g for rigging and some paint.
Hmmm, may need another 5g in upholstery.

So thats about 45-50g to finish it? If you're lucky... and if the hull is solid.

I dont think that one has a title either.

on a side note. i think alot of people with boats for sale are going to get hurt in the next couple of years. war, gas, insurance, ethonal, are all adding up to nobody wanting to buy right now.

I would buy your Bullet if you would take 50K for it.
