Before the shorties. I could turn a 26 four blade bravo one to 5400-5500 rpm. depending on conditions I'm running in.

4195 04-24-2008 08:50 PM

What are you running for power now?

Never had my engines dynoed. I figure they are 600+hp. But I'm not sure.

oreo11zeus 04-27-2008 11:30 AM

26!!

Kramer - You will need some 27's if your spinning the 26' out to 5500 after those shorties go on. I have 28's with my 572 EFI's, running 5500 (79MPH) running I would guess 680 HP. Did you get those shorties on yet and water test? Dying to know

Good luck Scott! I hope she doesn't have to come out after you put her in. Suppose to be sunny and high 60's tomorrow.

Too small, I think...

SKRAMER 05-12-2008 09:04 PM

Put her in the water today. Took her out for a quick spin. Got up on plan a little harder then usual with the same props.(No tab) More info tomorrow.!!!!

oreo11zeus 05-13-2008 09:06 AM

Yeah 25's might be to small, but you will know if the 26's are at the very limit.

Good luck and be safe -

SKRAMER 05-14-2008 06:25 AM

Ok got to test yesterday. Two differant sets of props. 26 four blade bravo ones. The boat it harder to get on plan ( but I expected that). 3500 rmp I was doing 47 48mph. WOT was 5800 rpm doin 79.3mph on the gps. Then I switched to a set of 28 four blade bravo ones. Boat was harder to get on plane. 3500rpm was doing 50 51mph. WOT was 5300 rpm on one prop and 5200 rpm on the othe prop. I think this set of props need some work. Boat was doing 80.2mph. I think there is alot more to be had with the right set of props. Still trying I'll keep you updated!!!!

Hey Scott, I heard you out on the lake but didn t see ya. Come on down my way.:grinser010:

oreo11zeus 05-14-2008 12:09 PM

That's sounds about right - my prop calculations say a 27 is perfect, so a labbed 28 is the way to go. I think your engine is the problem on the lower 100 RPM. What where the waves like when you tested?

Bring her to the wiener run!!!

SKRAMER 05-30-2008 06:52 AM

Well run some 28 bravo that have been changed to 27. I could turn them 5400 rpm boat was doing 80.4 mph. 3500 rpm was 49.2mph

SKRAMER 06-25-2008 07:10 AM

Well I've think I've come to the conclusion. That for the money the shorties cost and the little gains I've seen. It better to stay with your standard lenght drive. I think I'm going to take the shorties off the Cafe and sell them. Anyone interested????

tony stamis 06-25-2008 07:15 AM

i went through the same thing i put the shorties on then put it back to standard hieght one inch at a time but still harder to get on plane because of the sport master lower.
