Why a Gladiator?
If I am not mistaken there is no cabin in a Gladiator, so why do you have one? Are they just a fast big A boat to cruse around in? Do people ski behind them?
|
Re: Why a Gladiator?
To go fast. No cabin, less weight, more speed.
|
Re: Why a Gladiator?
:evilb: Full time sit down go-fast, poker run, racing missle. :evilb:

Re: Why a Gladiator?
could a bed be thrown in there?

Re: Why a Gladiator?
Hey Jawbreaker,
Wich one is your boat. I am in the market :D but have to sell my boat first. :( |
Re: Why a Gladiator?
Good thread......... I am also in the market for one as well. Well as soon am my 05 Spectre sells. I don't have any use for a bed on a boat. I just want to haul azz all day in big water and go home or to the hotel at night.
What do some of you think of staggered versus side by side. I am leaning towards the side by side via a conversation with a owner. Andy |

Re: Why a Gladiator?
So, Can you even be in a cabin when the fast boats are under way? Do people camp out in them?
|

1. to go fast and because we can 2.Yes 3. Only when we are saving money on fuel 4. I wouldn't want to do that at 80-100 mph |

Lots of people do that, but we know who they are because of the bumps and gashes on their heads. :evilb: What kind of camping? |
Re: Why a Gladiator?
The Gladiator is one of the best looking boats out there. It has beautiful lines, and with the short/ narrow cockpit, looks like a little race boat. Plus, the boat is super comfortable to drive with its sit down configuration. It is the type of boat you can drive all day and enjoy thoroughly!

Re: Why a Gladiator?
So if you have a Gladiator:
No camping No Sking No cruzing (going < 40mph) Do you guys race with them? Are they good to go from A marina to a waterfront resteraunt? Are they relatively easy to operate? Thanks again for the information. |

Thanks again for the information. They're pleasure versions of offshore raceboats...you and 3 of your friends blasting through rough waters at high speeds. It's the equivalent of a small, fast, sleek sports car......If you want to camp get something with a cabin. Resteraunt and marina hopping is no problem. They're easy to operate, yet they must be treated with respect! I wouldn't consider any offshore boat to be an entry level boat. |

Re: Why a Gladiator?
For you none water skiing believers.........I hear the Gladiator is a great ski boat.........
I just got off the phone with somebody that put a 36' Gladiator together in 2002 for a guy named Bill McCangless for that purpose, a ski boat with a ski tow. It was a Lip Ship Ed. with 525's. He pulled a young lady by the name of Kim Lumley to a womens over all first place in the 54th annaul Catalina Ski race. For those that don't know, the Catalina Ski race is a 60 mile round trip offshore ski race. So I would say if you want to ski behind a 36' Gladiator more power to ya and make sure to post pictures....... :D Oh if you need somebody to build you a really nice ski boat, I would call Phil @ Lip Ship, I hear he builds a hell of a ski boat. :drink: Andy |
