Cigarette 24
#2
Cigarette has the deck and hull mold. It was resuced out of the "graveyard" nest to the old Cigarette plant back in 2000. Steve Miklos had a 24 Firefox built for APBA F1. It is not do so well and was turned into a pleasure boat. Adib Mastery now has this boat.

Hummm, not sure guys about the Firefox but this was the boat that Miklos had Cig build for F1. It was very much like a Corsa but we found that the Corsa would out run it easy. The Firefox was a little wider than the 7' something beam of a Corsa. I think the Firefox was around a 8' beam.I was unaware that Cigarette had 2 different mold for a 24' boat. I thought the 24 Firefox was there 1 and only.

There were at least 3 decks that i know of for the 24 hull...and from what i can tell, there was only one 24 hull.
1-flat teak deck with windshield boat had twin i/o - 70s
2-flat fiberglass deck with windshield single engine boat - early 80s
3-firefox deck with integrated faring - mid-late 80s and then finally miklos' boat

I believe the way it went down was that Charlie McCarthy bought the 24' molds in 75-76 and began the Banana Boats using that mold. They were such a hit, that Don A built another one and started making the Fire Fox.
The original Fire fox molds are at Cigarette and the original Banana Molds are in Florida with Chalie McCarthy, (he has since made some newer ones that are pretty much the same but he fixed all the minor imperfections and the hook).
