Default Cig Evolution??

I have found a boat that I am not familiar with called an Evolution. I looks very much like an old Tiger, but has staggered 900's with wet sump 6's. Can anyone tell me anything about the boat? Did they perform well, why didn't they make many, and what's it worth.

They were the pre-curser to the Tiger under Craig Barries reign. Basically it was a flat deck Revolution. They only built a few (like 3 or 4 I think). Most were built for racing. Lake Cumberland has one on their site that's been for sale for a looooong time. I don't think there were any performance issues. preformed as well as any big heavy deep vee.

You still looking for Cigs?? What do you think you want to get?

I have a feeling these Evolutions are in the Apache relm. They take a LOT of coin to get running and are wave killers.

Well, thats the problem, I don't really know what I want to get. Ideally I would say the crayola boat, and I can afford it, but I don't want to be that much money into a boat. I love the Tigers, but like mentioned in the 3A Topgun thread, I want a RELIABLE drive package, and due to the age of the Tigers, they are a little too much coin for the 3a, and #6 boats. I like the Evolution because of the staggered motors, but I don't want to end up in something that is insanely expensive to operate/mantain.

I guess, right now I am truly in the process of finding out what I want. I want to be in an upper 80's mph wave crusher with a reliable drive. I know the motors are going to fairly high maintenance to get me into those speeds, and that is ok.

I swear everytime I turn around I get more confused

Have you thought about Cafe's? A buddy of mine had a 93 Cafe with 500EFI's and Bravos (stock not XRs). Boat ran low 70's. You can get into a Cafe for a great price. The ride is awesome (wave crusher) same cabin as the Guns. My point being he ran that package for a few years pretty hard and replaced 2 drives. Not bad.

I also think that boat is pretty bad, It has everything I would want. I am just curious of cruise and top end speed. Gotta Love big engines and six drives.
