Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
What would you rather have? A 1984 35' Mistress or a 1986 Cafe? Which one handles the rough stuff better. Which is built better? They are about the same condition and same money with comparable power.
Thanks, Shawn |
Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
Cafe Racer. No question.
|
Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
yup... cafe... an old boat with new boat style... a properly cared for/updated cafe is timeless... where a mistress will appear dated--forgive me mistress owners
as for ride...they are based on the same hull. |
Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
Cafe, for it,s beautiful lines and updated look.

I think it depends on the particular boat.
Flat decks do rule. |

Have to respectfully agree with cigrocket :D :evilb:
Certainly with those hulls being so similar it is a matter of taste and likes. Flat deck vs. raised  And in the Mistress you can climb on into the engine compartment to wrench :evilb: :drink: |

Mine is a 1985 and a friends '84  Both ride like tanks :drink:

Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
The cafe is nice but the old school look and ride of a Mistress Flat Deck is timeless. These were some awesome boats and made to eat up the big stuff... These are boats to be noticed...

These 35 foot boats were a big step ahead in the racing world over the 36 and the 40 footers of the day.
My vote goes for the Mistress, it was closer to the raceboat style. ww.historicraceboats.com |

Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
I put 2 new Konrads on the mistress. Can't beat that.
|
Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
Cigrocket, I figured now with the Konrads we could beat it ! :evilb:
Just a little ? Of coarse after proper break-in is completed. :D |
Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
You are correct. It needs 10 hours of good break in time. A couple of trips to Ithaca and back. I need to get some props first.

Re: Mistress vs. Cafe Racer
somebody said mistresses are dated, thats true, theyare dated like 57 t birds and xke jags are dated, they have lines that will never grow old, there is no other 35 ft offshore made that rides rough water like a mistress. I have a 77 mistress and i have never taken it out in the two summers i have had the boat when someone i didnt know didnt come up to me and tell me what a beautiful boat it was. i only wish i could figure out how to get a picture of it off my desktop and into this reply.

Image Resizer In the right hand column, it's the 5th file from the bottom. Download it to your computer ... run it. After it's been loaded just right click on any picture that is too big and choose the 'LARGE' size and then upload that file for us all to see. :drink: Merry Christmas, Chris |
