Default Old TS Cigs vs new

Was wondering:

What is the difference in ride, handling, etc between the 2001+ Top Gun TS and the latest Top Gun Unlimited 38 & 39.

Has anyone here owned both?

The Top Gun was Cigarette's bread & butter so they put alot of effort into it to make it best they could over the years. I have heard many things like the 2001 - 2003 boats are the ones to own (not sure why). Now the new boats are out, how are they compared to the tried and true??

A lot of people say that because the new design is too "flashy" for their tastes. The 01-05 TS guns were more rugged and look more "offshore" than the new. The ride is the same between the new 38-GT and the Top Gun TS. The deck and interior is what was changed.

The new boats have been lightened up a bit. Also, the new 38 now gets a single gas tank.

The GT and Spyder are now gone. The new 38 is now simply the TopGun. Also, the GT had a smaller cockpit and longer engine hatch. The new Topgun has a longer cockpit and a shorter engine hatch.

so what do they call the 39 now? It looks like the weight is less because the cabin is becoming less and less?

I've been looking at Cigs too!! What are you expierences with Cig TG's built during the years of 94-99? I like these models as they have a full fiberglass liner and I like that they have a full cabin with head. Wich is a must for me.

It's not the year it's the lay-up and the power. Look at POOL WHORE's Top Gun, it's out your way and the best deal!

If I could more than mid $50K's (what I've offered for the Cafe) I would be seriously looking at his gun. If I won the lotto and suddenly had a bigger budget I would still buy his TG cause like the look and the kevlar strength/layup appeals too me. Most of all I'm more concerned with rough water performance over top speed and I don't like the look of step bottom's un-less it's a Gladiator.....
