Re: To finish or not to finish.....

You and your father need to finish the boat and enjoy it. You have apparently done a first class job in brining the boat back to life. They rarely bring what you have invested back. You're selling at the worst possible time.

You have the rest of the winter to finish it up. Launch it in the spring and enjoy what might be the nicest Revolution out there.

You guys just need to get excited about the boat again!

Exactly. There are too many newer, faster, lighter, boats in that price range to be had.

I don't understand this whole "the market is horrible right now" explaination. I've been hearing it since this website started. When has it ever been exceptional? Never. Do people actually think the boat market is going to magically become a way to make money on depreciating assets?

We realized we will have to finish it, but are still going to most likely have to sell it regardless of whether the market is good, for whatever it will bring.

If you posted your above response in all the threds nearly everyone would run out of things to discuss, the board would shut down and we'd have nothing to talk about during the winter months! :D

I don't know anyone who buys boat hoping to make $$$ on it (other than the dealers).

New Boat - Pay more for boat.... less for maintance/headaches

Used Boat - Pay less for boat.... more for maintance/more headaches (unless you're retired and love to tinker -- which can be fun).

Next thread....... let's move on! :drink:

Finish and enjoy the living hell out of it, or finish it and just be realistic to what the market will bear for a price. Either way, you need to enjoy it for a little while before selling it to the next proud Cigarette owner.

Unfinished will bring low-ball/insulting offers from people that have or think they have the means to make it 100%. I would bet a $1 that the avoided aggravation from that alone would make it worth it for you guys to see it through to the end. Just my .02.
