That is a helluva a boat, but I don't know if it is a helluva deal. When you can buy a Lip-Ship Gladiators for the same price, it is hard to buy a Kryptonite. Don't take me the wrong way because I am a proud owner of a 29 Kryptonite. They are awsome boats but.....

They are 605 inch naturally aspirated 429/460s using factory SVO blocks, cranks, heads etc.

All the stainless is getting repolished but here are a couple pics from a while back (during mock up #2) when I was working with Randy at Stellings:D

[QUOTE=Tom A.]Back to the Gladiator part of this thread,
2112 you have a sick looking glad, I'm unsure of the Fords QUOTE]

Somebody has to be different. It has been 11 years (knock on wood) Since I lunched a motor. Think of a huge Roush/Yates motor. As long as I follow sound building principles and use good parts, they are all just air pumps....right?

This Kryp is a better rough water boat than a Glad and runs over 100...FACT. I like the GLAD's alot you know that, my best friend owns an awesome one with 575's...

I don't think so. The guys who thinks he can buy a clean T/S Cigarette for 50 cents on a dollar is the one that doesn't own one. The nice boats bring big $$$.

There is also a big spread between a used boat and a new boat. Phil has a 2006 Gladiator with 600SCi's for $325k.

First off would like to comment on the resale of the Fountains to Dhlaw. Pier 57 has never sold a lightning for 325k that they had the came boat in stock for in the same year new for 217k Get you facts straight. In 2006 Fountain came out with a promotional package that included a 2006 42 Executioner with custom paint, 525s and a Myco for 240k. That is a pretty good deal. The same boat in a 2005 model is still bringing south just south of 200. That is respectable depreciation. That is a little les than 20% in the first year. The 42 lightnings are priced in the 340k plus range. You are confusing 2 different boats. Fountains depreciation scale is no different than an OL, Cig, Or Donzi. People see a 42x in the classifieds for 175k and automaticaly everyone thinks they have no resale. They also forget that they do not cost as much as a cig or OL either. I could show you A 51 OL that had a 900k plus list that will sell for between 500-600k. And you OL guys have the audacity to say OL is a superior brand with superior resale. Are you guys just plain Stupid. I have a friend of mine that just sold an 02 42 legacy with big power and 6 drives and he strugled to get over 300k. Before you post you really need to know what you are talking about. Take the average depreciation of a Fountain, a Cigarette, an OL, Donzi, Formula, etc. Run the numbers neither one is superior to the other. Keep in mind that an OL and a Cigboth cost more than A Fountain. They all lose $$$$ at the same rate.

Runafever,
Looks like you are running a fever!:D Thank you for the clarification on the Fountain values. As we all know, boats depreciate and I never thought the Fountains to have a higher rate of depreciation.. I have never followed the OL,s but I can assume that they probably have the largest depreciation of the bunch since they are the most $$ and most unique style of boat. I will however challenge anyone to show a better resale boat than the standard Merc powered TopGun. Thanks again for the info.

Runafever, you sound so... angry.

I would tend to believe that Cigs do have the best resale. Simply because it's the biggest name in the game and just because of that, very few people exclude it from their shopping list when they're looking for a boat.
