How much would it cost to run the exhaust out the transom? I am sure with the tractor pipes it would not come close to being legal sound wise...other than that I really like it also.

302Sport 07-11-2013 09:41 AM

He's got mufflers in the tractor pipes right now. I'm sure if you called GGB he could make something to make it sound very tame. IMO that is a radical looking boat and the tractor pipes add to that, so taking them away makes it just like any other boat..

I bet the most expensive part of running the exhaust through the transom would be the tailpipes themselves. Not that much glass work involved in changing the current set up. But F that, those tractor pipes are BAD AZZ!

I still remember running the inter coastal during the Daytona FPC poker run a few years back. Running in Phils black and purple Glad about 90mph and XXX (when it was the old XXX) ran past us at about 130+ with those dry tractor pipes SCREAMIN'! We just looked at each other and smiled. Those pipes are all business!

the bear 07-11-2013 11:13 AM

I agree on the look and the sound....If I could afford to pull the trigger on it I would want the tractor pipes for events like the LOTO Shootout and various poker runs where sound wasn't an issue, but for every weekend running at LOTO, I wouldn't want to have to deal with the hassell of being pulled over for sound checks....

tbirdusa 07-23-2013 04:37 PM

The PBC Gladiator is one nice set up. $140 seems awfully steep for a soon to be 11 year old boat no matter how much it shines. Is it a 85 mph set up? Somewhere in that area? Have the wife convinced we should go look at it as the Baja has grown stale and we paid off all the houses !!!! Time for some fun debt instead of responsible debt !

redbud35 07-23-2013 05:10 PM

I would think it can be bought for some less. It's really clean, should run 92 now. I had one with the same set up, ran 96 in salt after whipple reflash.

I don't think this is an original paint/motif. Does anyone know which one this one started off as?

Short cockpit. Not many side-by-sides had that so odds are it's a 2003 or newer staggered.

pm203 06-03-2015 02:27 PM

There were not that many built with the 575 (non-scoop)hatch.

thisistank 06-03-2015 02:54 PM

I'm guessing it's this one.

Yes, and It's def an 03 or older by the look of the air inlets on the exterior gunwale.

frickstyle 07-21-2016 07:04 AM

Joe, do you have a 3/4 shot of the drive setup on Unleashed? I would like to see how he has that tie bar rigged in between the steering mounts, and also what brand mounts those are if you know?

trannyjoe 07-21-2016 06:16 PM

I have the white one its in long island new York with 555 and whipples 100+

What's the full story on this Gladiator? Is this the first Glad, converted Team Virgin race boat?
I read that CMS racing rebuilt the 525 to 540's. Did Bob Bull own this boat

Yes it the old team virgin and yes it was the first. It replaced Tres Martins F2 gun. Don't know if bull owned it or if CMS went through it.

I personally love that thing. And for that price?? Crazy cool boat.

The engines have the 3 on intake. This boat was upside down at one point?

I don remember this boat having any spins or tools when Tres and Todd raced it. The F2 Gun did spin once.

Quinlan 07-25-2016 05:32 PM

I missed That part of the Class w Tres lol.

Yes. This is what I'm referring to. Of course I'm getting old and have problems retaining all the details of the useless cigarette info floating around in my brain. ;) maybe I'm confusing the Gun with the glad and this video. Eh, whatev. Bad boat at that price either way :D

How fast?

THACAMAROKID69 08-29-2016 01:53 PM

I think it was in the mid-high 80's, honestly, I don't remember, and my video from my phone doesn't say.

A buddy here in VA owns it. It's a little hotter than high 80s. :D

Sydwayz 09-21-2016 09:33 AM

I did a quick scan of the thread and didn't see this one:

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...29&oe=587222B9

The paint is DIFFERENT than the one in post number 10.

It was very rough last year - I figured it was canceled as it rained Sat, but I think they moved it to Sunday. I did not see that boat this summer, saw it a few times last year. There was also some one with a baby Cig (20'?) I used to see a lot, but didnt see it this summer.

Everyone, saw this Gladiator for sale in S. Florida. Can someone share the history? Any damage, submergence, etc.? Anyone know if it is in good mechanical and structural shape?

I have a pic of one with what looks like the same paint Nose up. Fresh water, so as long as it was properly cared for I would not be too concerned.

Any idea how long ago that photo was taken? Anyone else able to confirm if this is a pristine or salvage/pretty?
