Default Konrads IN or Out

Just purchased a set of konrad drives.. Need to know if I should turn drives in or out and what the difference is. 540's 600hp non staggered set up. Thanks for any help you can provide.

PM Biggus but my guess is out if you ever have to maneuver around the docks, I have tried IN on a Bravo boat and parking sucked even if it gave me an extra mph or two.

I put the new Konrads on the Mistress in November. I have yeat to try them, waiting for the Spring. I had them spin out. My original boat with TRS's spun in. I didn't have the docking control that I wanted. I will give up the 1-2 MPH if that for the ease of docking. If I was looking to be the fastest on the water, I wouldn't have the mistress. With the 675HP that I have I want to be in the mid 70's. Pretty much where I was before. Good luck, spring is coming.

I've run them both ways. Presently, I have them spinning inboard. It seems to carry the bow better spinning in. But.. as mentioned above, docking manners suffer when spinning in. It's not too bad, the boat just reacts differently, somewhat vague. You just get used to how it reacts.

Although, if I kept the boat at a busy, congested marina or did a lot of restaurant hopping, I would spin outboard to gain better docking control.

Congrats on your new Konrads! They sure made our boat so much more enjoyable. I've got 300+ hrs on mine with zero trouble.

I tried both ways on mine. Turning"In" is a bear to dock, but it was 2-3 faster. I changed back to "out". I also had to add the 1.5 inch spacer to get the cruise speed back. There was to much slip at 3500 rpm. With the 1.5" spacer in, @ 3500 the boat is running 4-5 mph faster than without the spacer. I tried .5",1" and the 1.5" spacers. I tried 5 blades and 4 Blades. My Top Gun did not like the shorter Konrads. Curt runs his short. I think the x dem is variable from the factory. I have always had hatch clearance issues. My engines are mounted high.

I run mine out and like ZP my boat did not like the higher X dim. I put the spacer in mine and it cut down alot on the Slip.
