I think someone knew they'd be coming after it...took everything they could unbolt. Sure glad they didn't bother to take off the blue tarp when taking the pictures... banker! :D :D :chick: :chimp:

thisistank 02-09-2007 02:31 PM

Anyone know what boat it is? Who was the owner? Anyone from around these parts?

That thing is not worth over 100k the way it sits.

otis311 02-09-2007 02:48 PM

I dont think Ive ever seen that one. It does look cleaned out though

otis311 02-09-2007 02:50 PM

100g,s on the trailer would be about top $$ for that the way it sits

That's not a tarp, it's blue shrink-wrap.

It's not cleaned out......that's the way Cigarettes come.....low tech and a resin bucket hull. No modern conviennces at all. :D

jeff1000man 02-09-2007 03:41 PM

Numbers on hull are registered in Ohio it looks like.

Might make a good project.

Nort, why do you always have penis envy over Cigarettes. You can always trade in your two wanna be boats and get a real offshore boat (Cigarette)!

Seems high for a non step boat. Here is one that is turn key for 129K ask: http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/9/2/86288592.htm

If you paid 100K then put power/drives/interior back together you could spend another 50-60K. That doesn't seem to be a deal. I would think 70K would be the end of the world for a 7 soon to be 8 year old boat with no power.

cigrocket 02-12-2007 09:26 AM

I agree, look at Fred's boat. His is ready to go for not much more money and its a Lipship addition. Buying a hull that's stripped for 100K would not be a deal.

$129K does not include a trailer so you can tack on 15K, the paint is sinful, and it's a pre vacuum bag hull, a process that began in 2000.

For someone that already has power and drives that they are comfortable with, it makes a good deal. There are no "turn key" used boats. When you buy a boat all ready to run it is always a roll of the dice and you can bank on sinking money in it.

otis311 02-12-2007 10:32 AM

100g's would be at the very high end of what I would pay with the trailer. 70g's would be a GREAT buy and maybe even considered a steal. When all is said and done with repower and drives the boat will be worth around $150-160k

jeff1000man 02-12-2007 11:00 AM

You still need electronics, motor plates, wiring, etc.

Shade tree engines - 15k each
used bravos - 3k each
used gimbles - 3k each
wiring, plates, peripherals,
Exhaust - 10k
Electronics - 5k

And this would be low end throw down stuf from what I have been seeing.

Big power would be more than that. Hopefully it was bravo rigged, of you need transom work.

This is for parts only, with work done yourself.

What am I missing. I was thinking workable deal at 55-60k.

You guys have been at this longer than me. What do you think??

Back4More 02-12-2007 03:24 PM

that sucks

thisistank 02-12-2007 04:44 PM

I assume it'll end up going to auction and fetching 50k or something around there.

They probably want low 100's for it. Banks trying to get it's money back. Guy probably owed well into a 100k (I'm guessing). Bank wants to get as much back of the amount lost but they'll never see what is owed. It'll sit until they decide it's time to put up for auction and cut their losses.

bshzba 02-12-2007 06:25 PM

I looked at the boat today. There is no trailer with the boat. The boat is stripped, covers are old and ripped, there are a few deep gouges in the bottom of the haul. The boat is nothing special. The boat was set up for #6s and they even took the pumps. And it looks like it has been sitting for a while. It needs a lot of cleaning. Heath

tanner 02-12-2007 06:47 PM

Boat even at 40k... Used or reman parts

Boat - 40k
Engines (525, 600, 700) = 50k
Drives (if set up for #6's) = 50k
Interior = 5k
Misc. pumps, radio, electric etc.. 5k
Everything else we forgot 10k
Trailer 10k

Equals 170k and a hell of alot of work.... Maybe the bank will just give it away and save on Storage !!!

oh yea and your labor is FREE !

Good point. It adds up quick

38cigmike 02-13-2007 12:25 PM

Thats what I call "winterizing"!!!! I agree they will be lucky to get 50k:eek:

cigracing1 02-13-2007 02:21 PM

That Ford looked like my Tahoe when I came home from the Miami Show last year. Someone decided they wanted my wheels more than I did.

obnoxus 02-18-2007 11:19 AM

I agree with you Fred,,,,,,,,,,anything short of a "steal" whats the point if your going to have as much money into it as buying a complete boat, plus your out all of your labor time.

10x 02-18-2007 11:24 PM

I believe I knew who owned that Tiger. It had 700 inch N/A engines that made around 975 hp, and it did have 6's on it. That is, if it is the same boat. It WAS a bad deal.
I knew who ended up with the powertrain, and they offered me the 6's for my Fountain, but I thought it was'nt worth putting any more money into a 10 meter boat, so I passed on it I believe the engines are still around the midwest.

Zudnic 02-20-2007 03:32 PM

The money it would take to get the bank repo decent, you might as well save the expense and headache! Just buy one of these if your looking for a Tiger:

I'd buy the Blue one all day long it's sweet looking in person, and you can't beat Dry #6's and BIG ZUL'S.

BraceYourself 02-20-2007 03:52 PM

Funny thing is I wanted that boat (blue boat). Had an offer on the table 6 months ago. Guy was trying to get more out of it. At this point would of been a done deal with the price drop. Glad I bought what I did... That boat has been sitting for a long time from what I remember, something like 2-3 years.

runafever 02-20-2007 04:28 PM

I know the guy that used to have this boat. Only straight bottom tiger with that paint on the great lakes that I knew of. He must have sold it to a guy that went belly up because the original owner has major bank. Yes it did have 975 N/As with sixes. Real clean back in the day which was not that long ago. Used to be docked near me in the same marina. J-Bonz probably knows this rig too.

I heard the owner rarely used it and yes money wasn't an object for him. It was in Florida when I was interested in it. The engines are going to have to be pulled out and gone through. Sitting for a long time, salt water, and that much hp sounds like rebuilds to me. Also sales guy said 80 some hours and engines have never been out of boat. The boat is awesome though...
