My Friend has a 39 with staggered 850's and I really don't like the ride... I think the boat has too much weight in the rear.... I think a pair of 700's would be a better package.

38 feels more stable, the 39 is stable just a little faster

hope that helps - get the 39 with 700s

Dependant upon the propellers, if you were to use cleavers 5B or possible 6B props, it would carry the stern much higher. Effectively carrying the weight better.

Both are great boats! I think it is all preference. If you have the money to spend a 39 w/700's NXT/ Herrings is the way to go. If you want to save approx 100K or so get the 38 with Merc 600sci's or Zul's and it will haul a$$ too. The 39 will be a little better in the rough stuff with the staggered setup and the big #6 props on the NXT drives make a difference too but both are great in the rough stuff. I love them both and either the 38 or the 39 will be my next boat.

Randy, Change your signature..... You don't own a 1999 Cigarette!!! Well.... anymore!

Joe

P.S. Glad you're coming to Ft. Myers... Tiff said I should kick you out of my boat at the last minute before the run, in just enough time for Phil to get the boat you've been pondering over there for you to "sea-trial" and bring home (with your chopper)!!!! She said if you don't hurry up she and my wife will go and get it for you!!!! hahaha.....

Well, Joe, technically he still does since the money hasn't hit his account yet . However, been spending a lot of time on the phone with Dave P (actually, the wife has) and the financing is just about complete. Should be finalized by Monday, no later than Tuesday. As soon as Phil can get to the paint, it's coming back to Louisiana. Never know, if Phil takes long enough with the paint, you might see it in Ft. Meyers!
