Dan,
Thanks for the quick response. I believe I've seen yours listed in the classifieds, T- 525's right. It's a sharp looking boat as is this one http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o14531-en.html I'm just concerned that a 525 boat might not be exciting enough having cruised my Spectre the last year. I like the Zul boats but don't know much about their engines & only know of one Lavecraft locally that had Zuls. I want a 100mph boat minimum. What I meant by the docking was that the drives being so close on a staggered setup makes it more difficult to dock somewhat like a single. Again that was hearsay & who would know better than someone that actually has owned a staggered Glad. Why are you selling yours? What's next. Thought about trying to find an older mileaged out 525 Gladiator & dropping in a set of 625 or 710 Ilmors just to have something different. To be honest I've never seen or read of there being an Ilmor Cig in existence. Michael PS- right now having a trade limits me some. I prefer to be a cash buyer. I would probably agree that going from a fast cat to a 525 Gladiator would seem somewhat boring to you. At 90mph this boat is begging for more. The 525's are great for turn key and reliability. We have alot of options going through our heads. Maybe we may keep our boat and repower it to Zuls or just buy another one already with zul's, to get more speed. We have also thought about going cat or to a Donzi Zr comp. Im pretty sure our's is the lowest priced staggered boat and in the best condition for the price. I dont think there has been a Cig with Ilmors. My Dad actually mentioned we repower ours with them. The Gladiator is the vee version of a cat. I've always heard once you go cat you never go back, so this would be intersting. Go for a ride in one and see what you think. This is our boat, http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o14908-en.html The pics really dont do the boat justice, Dan |
Pretty sad...
That's why I got rid of my Fountain. That's how the cabin looked after any trip to Catalina... Nice to see Foamula builds with the same quality...:p

The Donzi sit down is one homely, dated looking boat.(IMO)

The Donzi doesn't have the lines of the Gladiator, but still looks pretty dang good. (IMO)

You must like the retro look. :D
But really, this doesn't look retro to me. When you really look at it though, Cigarette's have had the same look since the 80's except the Gladiator. |
That is the nicest one of the bunch..... I have never been a fan of the canopies and I think the transom / rear hatch portion of the boat doesn't work well, (design wise). However, the paint does wonders to that boat. It looks very nice.

I never thought ZRs were very good looking boats until my business partner custom painted one to look like a Ferrari on the water. It turned out to be one of the sexiest offshore powerboats I have ever seen! It even made the Gladiators look tame by comparison!
