Does anybody know anything about these two boats.

The one titled FT LAUDERDALE CAFE is a 1992, located, obviously in Ft Lauderdale. 502 Mercruiser's with less than 10 hours, Bravo's. Owner is supposedly going bigger. White dash with Gaffrig and Livorsi guages, still retains the black buttons and shifters, and has a purple steering wheel.

The other is a 1987 Cafe with TRS drives located in LOTO. Kansas boat that has been brought to Big Thunder Marine for brokerage so that it gets more exposure.

I know what the OBVIOUS choice is here, just seeing if anyone has any first hand knowledge on either before I start getting more involved in either.

Thanks,

Eric

Just spoke to the broker - it is 60k

If I had 80 to spend I would undoubtedly go with listed by Stecz.... Hell I would buy that thing just based on the Dash itself - I love what he did with that dash.

I have to agree. I want to upgrade to a cafe and I think this boat is at the top of my list. Unfortunately the list of prorities at this time does not include a new to me Cig. Another year or two and its a different story.

4195 04-16-2007 03:23 PM

Again I have seen this boat for last couple of years and it is the right boat and what I would consider under the market value. The owner has the bilge all done up with blue diamond plate. Come on up and check it out! I can not believe at that price it will last long

im looking to move mine.. ill take 70,000 for it with the trailer......

Hollowpoint 04-16-2007 07:32 PM

I don't personally know either boat, but I think the '92 with Bravos is a steal. Sounds like it has some nice upgrades which to me would indicate the previous owners willingness for maintaining it better. It should be bulletproof with those engines and drives. Hope to see it this summer :D

berns29scarab 04-16-2007 07:33 PM

stecz's is the boat to buy...you wont find a nicer done boat anywhere with NO EXPENSE SPARED...IT IS A 10 !!! Find the $10k DONT MISS THAT BOAT

I got a PM from someone who said it may have a sick engine. Consequently I've talked to the broker a couple times regarding receipts for the engine and drive work - they are completely unwilling to provide anything until a signed contract is in place, obvioiusly subject to Survey and Sea Trial. This just makes me a little uncomfortable - seems to me if you were confident in your boat you would be willing to show documentation showing you have a well done boat....I'll see how the next conversation goes. The boat looks really clean and has everything I want at what seems to be a good price, I'm just a little uncomfortable that they aren't interested in helping me do my due diligence - since I am 1000 miles away.

I know the amount you want to pay may seem to keep going up, but Stecz's boat also sounds real good at that price, especially if that broker for the other boat is a D*&^.

572 Merlins.....maybe Stecz would post up top speed???

We Exchanged PM's.....there is no doubt that thing is bada** but unfortunately it is just unrealistic for me. I like the Gastonbury CT 1990 Cafe Racer that is in classifieds, but I believe the asking price is 65000 w/o trailer which adds 7 or 10k to the price making it unrealistic for me.

Didn't buy Stecz, but, pending survey, am scheduled to close on a Cafe on the 18th of May.

I am going to have to get together with you and some of the Southside guys to show me the ropes on this thing.

Nervously Excited!!

Hollowpoint 05-04-2007 07:32 PM

You and me both! I am also new to larger twin engine boats. My previous was a CC Stinger which had not seen water in many years. There are several performance boats in the area. I know the owners of a couple of fountains and have seen a few Cigs in the area thru the HRPA site. I was hoping to run the Ocean Marine Poker Run on May 19, but I don't think I'll make it.

There aren't any performance boats over on the Penninsula. Every once in a while I'll see the occasional Baja or Scarab, but that is about it - Ive never seen a cig, that's for sure. Are you participating in Jammin on the James at all? I've been lurking that thread in the PR section?

Yeah - I am beside myself excited but unfortunately after I pick it up I won't be able to drop it in for several weeks due to being out of town. It's kiling me. May have to take a few days off work and satisfy my angst.

Im a Meticulous guy when it comes to toys so I will take care of it. The fiance's excited too but she may change her mind after her hearing goes out....
