That boat has blown alot of drives due to the Pro chargers and was actually kept in dirty salt water ( Boston Harbor) for quite some time. I think the owner later got a boat lift of some kind. I would be very careful and check the boat out very closely.

OL40SVX 04-19-2007 06:00 PM

Come take a look at it for yourself and dont believe everything you here from these people. I was on the boat today and it's really nice and probably the fastest 35 Cigarette. The boat has been at Ocean for most of the past two years by the guy just wants to sell it. Are you coming tomorrow or the weekend?? Either way I'll be there so I'll come by and say hi.

These people? Hope you are not referring to me. The owner of that boat stopped using it because he was tired of replacing drives and that boat sat in salt water for at least one season if not two. Does not make it a bad boat, but definetley should be looked over closely.

so your claiming that the boat was left in salt water for years without bottom paint????

K-WELLS 04-19-2007 08:24 PM

also what do you guys think this thing is worth????

greg bakker 04-19-2007 08:48 PM

Did the boat sit in the water or not! We need to know? The suspense is killing us !

thisistank 04-19-2007 08:55 PM

Not to step on anyones toes but I'd buy Dreamers boat...Sh!t, I'd buy dreamers boat right now if I didn't have ours. That dark mohogany look and the black and white scheme is just timeless class.

What's the story Dreamer, why hasn't that thing sold?

I didn't say years. I know of one season, possibly more. What I can tell you is that the boat was pulled every several weeks, cleaned and waxed with an open check book. If the hull meters fine for water and the drives, tabs and mechanicals look ok, the boat might be ok. I don't know what they are asking for it, and I am certainly not trying to bad mouth the boat. I am just telling you the history that I know of, as you requested.

H20 Toie 04-19-2007 10:57 PM

Do yourself a favor and also check out Dreamers boat.

$110-115K would be a good number for that boat. Make sure you leave a little $$$ in your budget for a spare drive. You can just get a rotation going.....or remove the prochargers and have a better chance of having drives last. Of course, if you suck at throttling, You'll blow drives then too!!:D :D

Just my $.02;)

K-WELLS 04-20-2007 09:03 AM

So who should I have come with me to survey the boat?????

pm203 04-20-2007 09:32 AM

I used a surveyor out of Con. named Phil Gudreau. He was very thorough and even did engine oil samples for me. His tel # is 860-349-1956.

Look At Dreamers Boat...its Mint, Turn Key And Needs Nothing !!! If Its A Playboy Your Looking For...his Is The One Hands Down>>>

CasinoRunner 04-20-2007 03:10 PM

If it's the boat I'm thinking of, the asking price was $$ high. Between that one and Dreamers boat just based on general info and posted pics, I would seriously consider Dreamers.

not listed for sale.... if i buy a new boat... ill be poorer and probably no happier than what i have

but i got an itch for big and fast

OL40SVX 04-20-2007 06:28 PM

Dont rule out Oceans 35 yet. It only has 122 hours on it. The owner invested alot of money into the motors and drives. The boat is probably worth 160k maybe a little more. It is a 2002 twin step Cigarette and very fast. By the way it has not blown outdrives and there's no corrosion on the drive or tabs or anything for that matter, so it didn't sit in dirty salt water for too long.

Yah, don't rule it out untill you do the survey on it first......Maybe this boat doesn't blow drives or maybe I was just thinking about the other 35 all white Playboy from Ocean with Pro-Chargers. I get so confused. Sorry.

OL40SVX 04-20-2007 08:13 PM

They have no knowledge of any blown drives so.... You know, boats are made to go in water even sit in it too. What do you have against the boat and Ocean any ways???

Not to get in the middle of your guys rant towards one another but lots of people have issues with boats that have even been in salt, let alone left in it.

I personally boat in the pacific ocean more than lakes and I've never had a salt water related problem on a boat. properly maintained and you'll have no problems.

Chris and I have had some issues, but since have made ammends. And, in no way have I said anything derogatory about Ocean on this thread. I like Chris and applaud him for what he has accomplished at Ocean.. I simply am stating what I know about this boat from two people very familiar with the boat. I even stated that it was maintained , hauled and cleaned with an open checkbook....But, when a member of this forum seeks info on a boat that I know of, I tell what I know, good or bad. It's up to the potential buyer to make his decision. I even posted the name of an excellent surveyor who would be impartial in his survey. And as far as a boat sitting in the water, these boats are not made to sit in saltwater for months at a time. You know that. Anyhow, I give you credit for trying to be the proverbial salesperson. Let the potential buyer and the surveyor make the final decision.

This one was properly maintained so there are no problems. It really hasn't been run in two years and has only been maintained by Ocean Performance. So it really only had a couple of months of sitting in water if it did.

CasinoRunner 04-20-2007 09:41 PM

The asking price in January 2007 was $229,000 did the seller decide to lower it???

(For a few bucks more you could get a late model mint 38 Gun with 525's.)

Why would anyone keep a boat like that in salt water, what was the owner thinking...........

OL40SVX 04-20-2007 10:13 PM

The starting price is 199k, open to any offers.

K-WELLS 04-23-2007 12:30 AM

Went to go see the boat on sunday.......It is tits.......122 hours. I could tell it was kept in salt water though....(a few small barnacles on the inside of the boxes and maybe 3 sq. inches of lift/oxidation to paint on both of the drives) also i wasnt a huge fan of the non-ITS drives......If anyone can make suggestions to what drives to put on to upgrade let me know.....also If I buy it I am considering lowering the boost from 8 to 6 psi for reliability. Pat is also greatguy..very helpful and patient and understanding of the cigarette lifestyle and brand as a whole....

I cant wait till I blow these 505sto make room for some ZULS!!!

K-Wells,
When shopping for a used boat, it is hard to get everything you want. ITS is not really as important as condition and history. If the boat passes a survey, and you want to buy it, take the Pro-Chargers off and just use the boat untill you are ready for new power. Since the boat sat for quite some time in the water, the surveyor will moisture test the transom and check the hull out for signs of blistering. Good luck.

I was up there last summer looking at it. Awsome boat. It did need a little detailing but, then again, what doesnt? Pat treated us well also. He even showed us around on a saturday after they were already closed up. Great place / Great people,
Goodluck on your search,

Whats up Rick, you ready to put in yet? Did you get your winter projects done?
Jr.

Tricky919 04-24-2007 08:04 PM

What's up Bonz? I havn't even started the winter, now spring projects yet. Just bought a house, and am dealing with that right now. It's getting painted soon. The guys are starting the work this weekend. Then it's top end refresh, and drives go on, and it hits the water. I should have it in for Memorial day, at least thats the game plan.
