Tell everyone one EDock I said hello. |
I did my research and found out that the 850,s as well as the 1075,s work very nicely in the 39. The Mercury boat is currently running 1075,s as we speak.

I am looking to trade up to a 39 Top Gun or 42 X with 700's. Is their anyone that has either of these boats and can shed any light on the differences between the two boats. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks TJ
What is your trade? Regards |

Oh and the 42 that had issues with weight balance was the Tiger T/S w/6's....not the 42-X. Like Brandon said, when the first stepped 42's were built they ran great with bravos. When they put the sixes in 'em and pushed the motors forward due to the trannies it f*cked the CG up royally. Thus the birth of the 42X. the 42X changed the steps around to accept the new CG with big power/trannies/sixes. Its commonly mistakenly quoted that the "stepped 42" rides like crap. It was only in the above listed circs. The 42x is an AWESOME machine. And the stepped 42 with bravos is also a great running boat. Tanner, if you go and confirm this with the gentlemen you spoke with I'm sure he'd agree.;) |
Hi Folks - Let us step ahead nearly 11 years. Please bring your current thoughts, opinions and experiences to the table, between the 39 and 42x with 700s. I have yet to ride in either but I believe one of the two will be my next choice. Thanks.
