cig watch, anyone own one
 

been thinking about buying the cig watch , saw one once , it looked nice . I know this isn't a boat topic , but it does show you can have your Cigarette with ya all the time...

I'd like to stumble across one of those Cig Rolex pieces one day.

I have one and love it. Received tons of compliments with it. More so then any other "high" end watch I've own. Great time piece!!

I bought one last year, and wear it and get tons of complements. It is a cool watch, comes with a cool case, etc. If you have a cig, there is no better watch to wear,

I've found out this...

Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, "Submariner", 660ft/200m, "Cigarette 1", Ref. 5513. Produced as a special order for the racing boat company "Cigarette 1" in the 1980's.Fine, center-seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet and special "Fliplock" clasp.
Each Cig customer recieved 1 Submariner as gift . Only 50 in the World

I love the Cig Rolex,but I was talking about the chrno from Formex, they make some awsome watches, super shock proof and a 46 mm case, but thanks for the Rolex pic.

I've looked everywhere for one. Only found a few. One guy would sell but wanted a Solid Gold Presidential and $15k for it. I didn't want it that bad.

The thread you posted is very old and unfortunately the threadstarter is no longer with us.

Now in Italy , if you're lucky to find one in good condition , you can pay more or less € 20.000,00 more or less US$ 29.000 ; but I think it's super hard to find out one

I have one of the Cig Formex watches. Gets Lots of comments from it.

There are lots of folks that do custom bezels for the rolex. I have a nice Explorer I with the plain black face. I might look around and see who could do one. Simple silkscreen operation- probably wouldn't cost more than a couple hundred or so.

If you wanted to get nuts, you could do the whole oval across the face. Ex I has no date so there's a nice canvas to work with.

I found a watch store out in Ca. close to my home , he told me that because he is one of the only Formex dealers in Ca, he could get me the watch for about the same price that Cig wanted , maybe less. I love the Rolex, I gave up looking a long time ago and bought a GMTmaster II and a Explorer, I would love to add the Cig Rolex to my wrist, but way too much cash, gettin the Formex ,its big bad and its the way I can say CIGARETTE all the TIME.ok that did sound stupid.If anyone that did post on this thread have the Formex let me know if you have any issues with it. I bought my cig watch last year from Cigarette. Ordered it from their online store, didn't hear from them in a couple of weeks, called cigarette, received the watch in the mail about a week later. It is the formax, with red dials, matched my cig dash nicely. Still a nice conversation piece when hanging out with guys, or rock and roll girls.

I bought mine for $1000 from some jewelry store in Fla.
It really is a nice piece.

Yesterday I called to Cig factory shop , they don't have it anymore..!:mad:

900 $ are much better than 900 € now !!!! :rolleyes:

They produced 50. I believe it was in the late 90's or eatly 2000's. You could expectto pay a premiom over an equivalent Submariner- maybe another grand. It's all a guess- not enough made not does it represent a highly collectible piece to a serious Rolex collector.

Lots of folks do custom dials for Rolex. There's no reason you couldn't duplicate it with a nice sub of that vintage. The image is just white silkscreen on the standard dial. Probably find a nice sub for under $3K and maybe $500 tops for the dial done & installed. Only you would know.

Sorry, I bought the one on Ebay for $1100.00. Just came in today and is basically brand new. Very good quality.
