Burned Cafe Racer @ Certified Sales
What a shame. I think this boat was for sale about a year ago.

A guy that lives in the town over from me owns that boat. It's too bad. He's a member on here. I saw the boat a couple of time in person and out running. It was real nice!!

That is a real shame. What a nice looking boat. Can the owner comment on whether or not the engines are still in good condition? |
Curious if it was the fuel pressure gauges that have fuel plumbed up to them. Always worry about them

you should never run raw fuel to mechanical fuel pressure gauges in any dash, always use an isolater. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku |
That looks pretty electrical to me. If there was fuel being pressure-fed to a fire like that, there'd be significantly more damage.
|
I had a problem this year when I had an oil pressure switch which allows the electric fuel booster pump to turn on went to ground. Burned up the wires under the dash and switch pretty bad. Found out that the electric fuel pumps were not fused from the factory. They are now. Scared me. If you have these pump I would check to see if they are fused. If they are not I would do it ASAP

http://www.certifiedsales.com/listings/YS070239.html Nevermind - I found the pictures in my recycling bin of that boat - I do think it is the same boat.....Looks like it has had a long year unless the pictures I have of the boat were dated at that time??!?!?!? |
Any ideas on what it will sell for ? What was he asking for it a year ago ?

Owner told me that the fuel pressure guage was indeed the cause of the original fire, and that it had originally burned almost immediately after being built. Looks like maybe there was another fire?? Just guessing here.....

geez...that boat is a magnet for fire...
2nd time... |
Any ideas on what it would cost now?

Um... 92 miles an hour? that seems like a streach to me. Twin468's ? Those blowers arent exactly small. And I do see dual dbl pumpers on them but I dont think the wieght reduction from the missing interior is going to let you achieve that kind of speed in a cafe'. I do want it though. After seeing that Top Gun go for 25K the other day I'm all fired up to buy something.

Having said that, if the motors and drives are OK and you're knowledgeable at vehicle wiring, this isn't a mega project. My guess- it will sell for mid-teens. |

That TG wasn't a steal at $25K. Unless you've done a major project on one of these boats, you'll be astonished at how easy it is to underestimate the labor and $$$ that one can swallow up.
