http://lipship.com/preowned/preowned_fr.html

After that drama filled thread got locked I looked at lipship.com to see what he is turning out lately and spotted the pink TG with 496's.

Anyone know the deal on this boat?

It is a tribute to the 42 Evolution "Mr. Cigarette".

Here is a thread on it from a few days ago:

There are only two Mercury engines that are easily exported with EU/European certification; 496HOs and HP662SCi. My guess is that this boat is a first boat for someone overseas, and the next one will be different.

Phil told me it was custom ordered by the son of a very wealthy man. The kid was a big Don Aronow/Cigarette history fan. Phil recreated a Mr Cigarette version for him but the boy must have got out of line or something. I don't know.

Maybe he was "Taken out to the woodshed" and stripped of his new Cigarette for getting out of line! :party-smiley-004:

Stormrider 01-15-2008 08:29 AM

interesting... how'd it run w/ 496s?
does cig even build it w/ them?

dreamer 01-15-2008 09:03 AM

thatll have great resale :Whatever:

LEOPAJM 01-15-2008 09:55 AM

Shoulda named this one Mrs. Cigarette .... ( not to be confused with "Miss Cigarette" )

Actually , I kinda like the retro/nostalgia/re-do idea on this one ..... just through some 600's in there , or some Zuls.

cigracing1 01-15-2008 10:05 AM

i like the boat.

Spicy 01-15-2008 01:43 PM

Thats the boat Ritchie Rich was painting when Powerboat Or Extreme Magazine (cant remember which one it was) did an article on the Cigarette Factory interview with Skip and Neil a month or so ago.....

thisistank 01-15-2008 02:53 PM

Boat was custom ordered like Kurt said with that power. Phil has a set of bigger motors sitting next to it if someone wants to upgrade.

Boat ran just under 80 with the 496's (78-79 I believe).

The dad that ordered it for the son wanted it to run under 80 for whatever reason (insurance/Euro specs, etc).

StraightJacket 01-15-2008 03:17 PM

Who ever buys it, must really like pink. Cuz there is alot of it

Stormrider 01-15-2008 03:43 PM

So, tank... you can't order a 496 boat from the factory?
That this would be a special Lipship touch?
You think other dealers would do that?
:hitfan:

Oh here we go...Trouble maker!:D

Actually I suppose you can order 496's from the factory.

The pink boat is not a "Lip-Ship Edition" boat. You wont find "Lip-Ship" on it anywhere.:D

This is a good example of a KID spending DADDY money. DADDY Saying no I am not paying for it.
Kids think to know it all. What is a hobby for some Is a living for others.

I think Phil is the man for having the stones to list it! Cigarette took the guy's money building it so Phil can make another 10% selling it. My 7 year old thinks I should buy it and rename it Hanna Montana's Wild Ride.................

There is an azz for every seat!

thisistank 01-15-2008 06:55 PM

Hey, I'm sure someone will dig it and buy it. With the 496's it meets the European smog law specs and anyone will insure it with that power package, not to mention the motors are warranited for 5 years!

Someone out there will buy it. I'm not fond of the colors but hey, I said that about the original on another thread and get a load of crap about that too. Seems alot of poeple love the look of the original. So, someone will see this thing in person and dig it. Someone's going to get a good deal, I can tell you that.
