Default Water Pick-ups for Intercoolers

I'm in the process of installing Whipple Intercoolers on my '02TS/TG. I need some info on pickup location. Any do's or don'ts? Thinking just outboard of the 2- drain plugs?? Pictures would be great.....Thanks

Thanks, basically, yes. That looks like 4-pickups. Are the 2 on the centerline for the chillers? I've seen that picture before but when I zoom in it's too grainy.

I have individual pick-ups. Is it typical to angle them in on the centerline?

Any more??

You want them as close to the center line as possible. This will ensure that you keep clean water going to the props. Look at Stainless Marines web-site. they have what you need.

for what it's worth, i did the same thing to my tg last year and had different opinions on where to add the pick up. I Added whipple intercoolers as well and im running bravo xr its drives. My mechanic in Huntington Beach added only one pick up and one sea strainer for both my coolers. They get adequate water and the pick up was added approx 6 inches from the keel but forward on the boat approx 2 ft. I will look for exact measurements if your interested. I have spoke with Bob Teague, Tres martin and others and they have all told me that the placement of this pick up did not affect water to my props. Feel free to call to discuss as i may have other info for you. 602-469-3234

Thanks Doubletake. I'll give you a call.

Here are the pickups that came with the Whipple Kit. Pictures I've seen they look like they angle in toward the vee and go through the transom above the drain plugs. Still looking for some close ups.

Just make sure the RPBA doesn't help build your motors. I think I got the last of the "signature series" 500+ BBC's!!!!
