Default Has anyone ever put Arneson ASD-8's on a 38?

I have a line on a set of ASD-8's and I was thinking about repowering up too 850hp engines and Arnesons. Right now I have 600 hp each on TRS's. I know I would destroy the TRS's, so I can buy a complete package with the Arnesons for a good deal. Does anyone know how much rocker and where to put it in the bottom of the boat? It's an older 1982 flat deck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check the arneson website. There is an old flatdeck on there with some #8's. Better yet, call Rik or PM him, he should be able to tell you about it.

not knocking the arnesons, but konrads would be an easy swap for the TRS, and some on the board have them on their 38flatdecks already... ie: MR Cig.

I don't know much about Konrads but Arnesons have an extension box that will line up with a TRS transom. Both drives aren't cheap but I think they would kick a$$ on an old ciggy.

There is a guy on speedwake that switched to Arneson's and is seeing pretty big numbers....here is the specs on the boat

"we ran 108.6 with out and playing around, no wind, and tabs down at 6000 rpms. The props were 18 35's and the motors are still on the chips, so we could potentially see higher #'s with the proper props and some adjusting on the tabs and drives depths. The boat has a set of 1000hp 572ci with 1471 blowers and is a 1996 Top Gun FULL CABIN hull."
