I am not sure on the weight of a bullett - generically I know they are heavy, but with a trailer, gear, fuel, and the boat you are going to be over 8600 lbs. Do your own research on here because there are lots of feelings about insurance coverage being denied, stability, etc....

I've got a 1/2 ton Suburban that has a tow rating of about 8600. I bought a 10,000# hitch for it and tow it OK. However, I'm only 10 min away from the ramp. I wouldn't tow mine 80 miles with my vehicle. My 2 cents.

The previous owner of my boat told me he actually took it to a scale and measured it with 1/2 load fuel and it was like 10,400# boat and trailer. He towed it with a F350. Others will probably agree that you should look for a bigger tow vehicle.

BTW, boat alone weighs over 8000#

Thanks , A new truck would have to have a new wife included. Thanks for the input.

Another choice would be to move closer to the water :)

I think the new truck would be cheaper :)

And the cost of a new wife is astronomical!

Total weight pictured here was 18,780lbs without drives. Half tank in boat, quarter in truck.
You need to keep in mind the weight of fuel is apprx 7lbs per gallon. With the 180 gallon capacity makes that well over 1200 lbs.

You can still get a Bullet. Just leave the boat in storage near the water. You could get away with towing it less than five miles from storage to the lake. Or, better still, get a wet slip.

Good luck! :D

Don't let the truck dictate the boat.

My opinion - If you have to sell your truck and get one with slightly higher mileage/a year or two older so be it - Get the boat you want though; adapting the boat to your truck is backwards.
