cig92 02-19-2008 10:22 PM

so what's it worth? Looks to be pretty clean, maybe just the pictures, not sure. Anybody know how used and abused or not? Motors original or rebuilt, hours? I have a clean 37 OL with 500's but thought this would be a nice replacement. I don't want to go backwards so any advice and insight on this boat would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Boat is very clean contrary to what dreamer says. He hasn't seen it (sorry Ted). Pics were taken this morning. Motors have around 300 hrs and top ends are done. I believe it is a fresh water boat. It does have the wood floor.

cig92 02-19-2008 11:11 PM

was this the boat that made all the magazines when it first came out. Is this the boat that H.H. from playboy bought for his playmate then traveled the country with the girls at different events? Has the boat been neglected in the past like dreamer says?

then this maybe hull 3 or 4... summer obsessions old boat....

i know one was toast... i called on it before i bought mine.... spoke to the guy

mr.boat 02-20-2008 01:16 AM

this was the boat that we took to the playboy mansion. we then slpashed her at dick simon marine in dana point. she was used for the PB extream team, poker runs and photo shoot. the boat then traveled around and promoted the co-branding. i lost track of her after that. it surfaced in the midwest a few years ago with some bone heads who told every marina they went to they were PB scouts and asked for free gas, beer and ? the answer is yes she saw plenty of salt water as i spanked her all the way to catalina several times. great boat with near perfect reentry. be well, scott

dreamer 02-20-2008 08:41 AM

no... but just found out it was redone....

previous info come from Titos and the first owner who i both spoke with at length

cigtopgun 02-20-2008 08:47 AM

Im Kevin at midwest power boats i had the boat and it is very nice boat

jryan26 02-20-2008 09:34 AM

I've been on the boat, and it is in great condition.

dreamer 02-20-2008 09:34 AM

again no disrespect... i shopped all three when buying... summer obsession got the newest/best with built in cooler and speedy lowers.... mine was second with the new hatch desiegn and billet tabs and eikert custom dressed motors....

again my info came from the first owner and titos after he ran it

if u redid it... its a nice piece now... ive seen ur bullets and they r great

jayhawk261 02-20-2008 09:35 AM

I was on this boat last summer, and it is immaculate. The hour meters say 225 (+/-) if I remember correctly. Kevin and I talked at length about how people have put this boat down on OSO saying it is a POS and it is trashed. I can tell you, from first hand experience, that this is one very clean boat. Whether or not is has been re-done, I don't know. If it has, then they did a great job.

Kevin, are you brokering this boat, or did you sell it? I still want this one, but I can't give my boat away! Good luck with this and the Top Gun!

cigtopgun 02-20-2008 09:49 AM

No jayhawk i have a tiger and i have my 2001 top gun 4 sale on here

carter38 02-20-2008 10:14 AM

Dreamer

Your way off I don't know how you can judge a boat that you have not seen or been on. I just looked at this boat 2 weeks ago and it is spotless. What have you ever seen that Kevin @ midwest owned that is not top notch. Like jayhawk said if its been redone then it was a great job because its turn key and needs nothing now.

dreamer 02-20-2008 10:49 AM

i said if it was redone then different story....

i was asked if it was mine... i said no... and gave the HISTORY of the boat that i knew of as i was looking to purchase it 5 yrs ago and spoke with titos who ran it at the poker runs and the first owner who chartered it out for bachelor parties with pornstars/hookers

BLee 02-20-2008 11:21 AM

Yeah the boat has been completely cleansed of the past history. Super nice boat now.

duke252 02-20-2008 12:04 PM

How Much you think the boat is worth, including hookers?

Matthew Smith owns the Playboy now. If you are interested in buying it give him a call 731-607-1159. He will take trades and there are more pics on his website (www.performanceboatbrokerage.com).

Kevin has a nice '01 TG T/S.

thisistank 02-20-2008 02:41 PM

I saw that boat when it was brand new at the Easter FPC poker run in '00. Fell in love with it immediatley! I love the playboy cigs with the black/silver/wood accents....CLASSY, CLASSY, CLASSY!

Looks like the re-do did this boat justice. The pics look nice.

I actually am the new owner of Dreamers boat. Got it last year and have been slowly working on it. New stereo went in, 19' LCD, pulled the swim platform acid dip and fresh black powder coat, same with the side rails, intake vents, nose rail, and seat frames - new GPS and antenna, complete detail color sand and some gel coat touch up...2 brand new drives being installed next week painted black, gimbles and transom assemblies being painted black, tabs removed media blasted and powdercoated black, new fuel pumps, new ignition coils, new strainers and new Tstats and housings as well. Possibly Brodix aluminum heads as well... Boat should be ready for the Desert Storm poker run end of April.

The boat for sale looks nice....but if they didn't use the ultra leather then that sucks....also, the rear hatch was not done well at all and is not factory, nor does it have the 1 logo on the front that is an air inlet and they also got rid of all the other engine compartment ducting to pull fresh air in for the motors. I would be very concerned about proper engine room ventilation as well as overheating due to lack of proper airflow.

LZH 02-21-2008 07:57 PM

couple more photos

Really, because it looks just like the hatch that cigarette used in 2000 when they went to the new rear seat back before they redesigned the raised hatch in 2001. Are you sure you know what you are talking about?

Here is a 2000 top gun with the same factory hatch. So maybe since this boat is a 2000 and yours is a 2001 they might be a different design

Not sure about the one you pictured....every Playboy boat like mine that I have seen pictures of has the 1 logo and inlet and side vents.
Regardless, how does the engine compartment get ventilation ?? Just those 2 intakes on each side ?? Doesn't seem suffecient to me....but hey, you have a lot more posts than me so I guess I have no clue what I'm talking about.

# of posts has nothing to do with it and I don't mean to jump on you, I just knew when the boat came up for sale it would get a bunch of crap even though Kevin has gone over it. Here are some original pics and as you can see it never had a raised hatch, that didn't happen on the TS 35's or 38's until 2001, the rest had a flat hatch just like the pre twin step boats. and yes the ventilation is by the side vents like the older boats. The raised hatch was designed to accommodate blower motors without adding scoops and the extra airflow they needed.

mr.boat 02-21-2008 10:40 PM

what you don't see in these pictures is bobby stotler hidden in the cabin, holding a walkie-talkie and his nuts, he and neil are as great as arnow was. (god bless) you can't buy a bad 35 ts pb .....................................period. my tiger was not a better boat! over.

All good man - I was being a bit sarcastic myself. But you raise an interesting point...My boat must be a later '01 build with the raised hatch, extra cooling vents etc. I'm glad to know that and thanks for bringin it to our attention.
No disrespect to Dreamer at all, but I knew this boat needed some TLC. The interior is perfect, literally looks brand new above deck and below. Dean Gellner balanced and bluprinted the motors and they are very strong, and after I put new drives on it the thing will be tits not to mention extremely unique for a 35' TS.
Can't wait to get back out on the water !!!!
