Are people detered by to many colors in the cockpit. Seems like that could be settled down pretty easy.

PremierPOWER 02-22-2008 09:37 AM

I like it, but will that boat really only run 102 with 850s?

pm203 02-22-2008 09:52 AM

Not the most marketable paint/ cockpit colors. Plus, when spending that kind of $$, I would think most people would like to build/design their own boat.

Sea-Dated 02-22-2008 10:11 AM

Great boat but there are better deals out there for $485K

I know Dan wants out of that thing pretty bad. Could be a deal to be had. Maybe a big discount and a heavy trade allowance. Boat is new but has demo hours. Warranties were already registered on this boat and I think it is up. Not great selling point when talking that dollar amount. Lots of better deals out there like Shogrens American Muscle 46 with 1075s for 379k.

I agree, I would rather save the $100K for rebuilds and buy American Muscle.

Dude! Half a million dollars for a used red and yellow boat? How many people do you think have that kind of money?

For that kind of money you can get alot more boat.

Just my (broke) two-cents!

I'll take the quarter pounder with cheese....and a large fries.

Ahh what the heck, go ahead and super-size it!!:D:D:evilb::evilb::party-smiley-004:

Just kidding, of course.

Von Bongo 02-22-2008 12:43 PM

Boat was listed for sale in September of 06, I'd think it was priced above the market if it hasn't sold in a year and a half.

I agree based on american muscle, larger boat, bigger yet reliable power and an ask of $379 (probably take what? $350 for it??)

I'd say $120-$130 at least over the market. But what do I know I made an offer on aboat last week and never even got a call back. Maybe spend $10K and redo the cockpit and sunpad and lower the price $100K. I think you'd start to be in the ball park.

txriverrat2001 02-22-2008 12:51 PM

Is it me or are the throttle levers missing?

For that kind of money, I have a list of boats in front of that one. I agree with other comments, it's over priced by at least 100K, so the respond to the original post on why it hasn't sold is we're waiting for the 25% off president's day sale....oops....I mean the 25% off Memorial day sale....oops....I mean the 25% off July 4th sale.... :)

Yea the paint red yellow and orange is too much for me.

No warranty? so someone bought it and turned in the warranty papers.Prob get a extended warranty with it

this one is still up there http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o15366-en.html

Jupiter Sunsation 02-22-2008 04:24 PM

I would rather have a new 42X with 700's for that kind of money. It may run 1-2 MPH slower but it avoids the huge money rebuilds of the 850's.

That flamethrower paint scheme was also used on Fountains which I think is tacky. I think custom paint schemes should stay brand loyal (don't care what brand just don't mix it up).

First off the paint on this 42x is not called flamethrower and it was never used on a fountain. Yes a there are some similarities but nothing alike. They have a 42 Fountain with the so called flamethrower paint sitting beside it and they are not even close to looking the same. I have been on the 42 in question and it is a remarkable boat.

BRD 02-23-2008 01:50 PM

Yep , unfortunately , looks like Ronald barfed all over it .... Prices are startin to come down to move boats right now also .

I'm surprised with J/J having storage they would leave it out side for the winter snow:eek:... The last time I drove by there was October and it was still out on the lot.

Hollowpoint 03-05-2008 10:23 AM

I guess the definition of a boat being new was set by Bill Clinton. I didn't know he was a boater :)

IMHO poker runs are pretty HARD demo hours!

Top Ven 03-05-2008 04:59 PM

Does any one know how much a New 39 Top gun with 700s cost ? should be around $ 450 k ?

pm203 03-05-2008 05:14 PM

I think the first number starts with a 5.

tonypo8 03-05-2008 07:15 PM

I know one thing a good salesman didnt paint the deck of the boat!!! Because who the hell would want a half-million dollar boat with a 93mph speedo painted on the deck??? wtf

10x 03-05-2008 09:42 PM

When that boat was first listed for sale back in fall of 06, a good buddie of mine went out there to buy it. I think at that time they were asking around $575K. He's glad we talked him out of the deal. Ended up with a 38 with 525's for a whole lot less, and he's happy.

If it has that kind of hours on it, it will need the 50K Mercury refresh real soon. I would think that would factor in to the reason it may still be a new/used/ leftover/ugly paint/ugly interior/ sitting in a snowbank in Ohio equation........:D

outdrive man 03-06-2008 07:50 AM

Its had the valve jobs on both engines. a local gas and lube did it as they dont have any service to speak of for boats. the dealer recently gave up both fountain and cigarette. i believe it comes with one free refresh if im not mistaken... im a little biased against this dealership due to countless bad "after the sale" encounters with them. ive bought allot of "new" **** there and always had to take it back for whaterver reason, and i caught them double dipping me and warranty on the one job... needless to say im still pissed.
