mystique question
New to the forum.
I may be interested in a mystique as soon as I sell a 340 Dancer. Have owned a few performance boats but never a Cigarette. Of the two mystiques listed on offshore only, which do you guys feel is the better deal and what's more important, power or stepped hull. Remember I'm new to all of this so sorry for the silly questions. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

i would say let the $$ do the deciding. The 2001 without the step but WITH the 500EFI's has its pro's and cons?
but the 2002 WITH the step, but without the 500efi's has its own pro's and cons. i would say they match up pretty equal, just see who is willing to deal better |

the t/s is a way better hull... i know i drove it and ecu reflash and a set of header and u will be flying.... already does 82 |
I suppose that is one big question I have....
Does the t/s make that big of difference. You can always upgrade motors but not a hull .?.? Thanks for the input. I'm way over my head here. |
Get the T/S, they realy run well with moderate power. We've got one that runs 105!
|
The early non-step Mystiques porpused like crazy!
|
The T/S 30 496 boat does ALMOST 82...the 500EFI boat is a high 80's mph with the right driver. The TS is overall a much easier boat to run than the non-stepped hull(but the non-step is still a very nice/fun ride).

pm could you link the video
|
It was made in 2000 and is on video-tape format. Miami 2 Step, Pudge's first Topgun(my old boat) and a couple of other Cigs if I remember correctly. It was shot from a helicopter and is pretty long with some nice close-ups and running shots.

There is a non-stepped Mystique with 500EFIs in the classifieds.

Thanks for all the info.
You all have helped more than you'll know. Can't wait to shed this cruiser for a bruiser (if you'd ever call a 30ft boat that). |

I have a video of a couple 00 Guns running with a Mystique. The Mystique was porposing badly. The porposing can be controlled with some tab and drive input, but will slow you down significantly.

Thanks Brad.
So I suppose the stepped hull is looking better all the time... |
Will cig still build a Vice?
Any clue how much one might run $$ ? |
I asked Skip at the Miami Boat Show if they were still building the Gladiators. He said that he would build either a Gladiator or Vice as a custom order but they were not offering them in the line up because it costs them almost the same to build one of them as a base Top Gun. Therefore they can not price them low enough to justify not buying a Gun.
Like anything though, if you want a smaller Cigarette, they will build it for the right price. |
Do you folks have any opinion on the S/T Mystique listed on Offshore Only from Canada?
Anybody know this boat? She looks sharp from the pics. |
yes i know it...
might buy it if my gladiator search doesnt work out... im thinking way lowr dollars though.... nice boat |
Thanks Dreamer.
Anybody else? |
