all generalizations.... each application and boat setup varies...
so learn from what others have done...

but props in can give bow lift... adding blades to a prop gives stern lift.... 3 to 4... 4 to 5... 5 to 6 but then there r different types of props too stern lifting bow lifting...

then ur hull... c.g. .... x demension... notch transom or not... then what type of dives and lowers.....

AND ANY COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE!!!!!

ask around find a tried and true set up... dont worry about that xtra 1-2mph and go boating:drink:

unless u LIKE and ENJOY the testing fiddleing aspect:p

GREAT ADVISE - and consistant with Tim @ Cigarette Racing! Cafes. need some stern lift and 4 blades - 525 EFI would be a 26P for starters

Not to hijack the thread, but i have an '88 Bullet, im running three blade cruising props, running rebuilt 454's [450 hp a side approx], bravo 1's, 9800 lbs dry, oh and i dont have a notched transom. wondering what i would prop setup i would get the best top end performance from. I have a decent hole shot, and i could lose a little of that if i got it back in top end. would some stern lift increase the top end? and take it easy on me, i have about 15 hours of seat time in the boat.
I do think the four blade cleavers are kinda sexy, but i dont know if they would help, [could lessen the weight of my wallet though]
Any suggestions??

I too am curious on the best combo for a Bullet. Have seen a couple of threads on this before and what it looks like, the Bullets also like the 4 blade props (I currently run Mirage 27P 3 blade). I run about 550-575HP.
