No chit, G!!! Me and a buddy rode to the local watering hole yesterday and figured it took a cool $175 to get there and then add in a small bar tab..........We must really LOVE powerboating!!

And a 41 Apache with 1000's and sixes compared to a 42 Tiger with 1000's and sixes in an open water race would come down purely to driver (skill and luck).

From what I hear the Apache runs the rough water better, and the construction is stronger. Mark McManus, taught by Don Aronow, is steeped in building the best Offshore powerboat. Like I said....I wish Sacred Ground would chime in, he could tell us his first hand experiences. ApacheCarl and Nykamp would also know. Those guys are knowledgeable straight shooters. I could be mistaken but I believe Apache Carl raced against one of the race only Tigers.
Here is a video of a powerboat that will give a 41 Apache a bow eye to bow eye race in the rough stuff!

Now to get this thread back on topic...........

The Top Gun will be a few mph faster with the same power and the resale will be better (IMO). The Gun has a bigger cockpit. The Tiger will probably do better in the rough water but has a smaller cockpit. The one thing I liked about the 2000-2005 TG's are the dash set-ups. With the Gun, you don't have a million gauges to watch as you do with the Tiger. It's a trade off but I'd go for the Gun.

This one looks nice

IMHO an indication of resale value between the two can be determined by the difference in sales of current models. I believe that the 39TG is currently the top selling model and thus should have the best resale value in the future.

With respect to performance ask someone who's raced them. The rest of us wannabes aren't skilled enough to know the difference and will probably never know; and if you'd had the good fortune of personally finding out in true 6-8's+ would most likely would have sh*t your pants anyway.

Does 4 feet make a difference?...1 inch more I'd be King, 1 inch less.......in spite of that you can get laid with a Tiger and/or a Gun...just ask Stecz. But then again maybe not.

Daddy knows all about running in true 6-8's...These were well spread out and allowed us to run 60 or so with them while quartering The Gun did just fine...

Stecz, I said the boat handled 6-8's....Kind've like how you love to TAKE 6-8's!!

If you ran in water like that Stecz, you'd be curled up in the fetal position crying for your momma!

6-8's +!
