The last new Lip-Ship 20 was $175...but there are no more.
That's why I jumped on the 1995 Special Edition 20....it is one of the very few pad hulls, doesn't need any major work and is in showroom condition. Down the road may upgrade the drive and power...we'll see. (I'm in the market for a Blackhawk if anyone comes across one.) Will I be able to sell it for more than I'll have in it? Today no, down the road who knows.

there is a market for the older boats of thunder boat row the cigs and early donzi and magnums to name a few
the name cigarette has become the name in the industry i would say donzi is a close second with a real bug for the older boats would also look for a magnum or squadron that don't quite have that joe q public name recognition.
i sold a 1967 donzi well cared for for a little more than I paid for it 6 years ago i did put a new tank so I would say it was an investment that didn't make a windfall but didn't lose value over the time I owned it most other boats would be hard pressed to do that
I think everything said in this post is pretty much dead on but I do feel that the smaller cigs and rarer cigs like the firefox and the 20 will have a better market that the more common cigs
keep in mind the rising cost of fuel and the fact that alot of the manufacturer's are getting away from the under 30 foot boats so that makes the older 28's 27's 24's more valuable
only bad point on this is last year I was in the club looking out now i am at the fence looking in trying to buy a new "old classic"
