I'd sit on my straight bottom forever before I let it go for under $100K. That guy may be trying to unload that particular boat at that price but looking at similar TS for sale, that asking price is the exception, not the rule. If it was such a great deal I'm thinking it would have sold already.

That is the dumbest statement I have read in a long time!
Your boat will be worth less than 100K GUARANTEED!

The only thing we could disagree is what point in time that will occur. Your boat was redone with Phil and it will add value but a stock 99 "original" TG is been knocked below the 100K mark. If someone was going to dump money into a boat to restore it why would anyone bother with a straight bottom when T/S TG's are starting to get cheap. This boat would be an excellent boat to redo with fresh power since it has a lot of hours.

This is my favorite straight TG: http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o18879-en.html

I liked it better 18 months ago when it was 190K from the guy who restored it, this guy bought it, used it and relisted it for 250, now 210K. Real money is about 1/3 less than asking but he believes differently which is why he still owns it.

Well, I appreciate your asessment of my statement. That's your opinion but you're certainly entitled to it.

As far as when my boat will drop below the $100K mark, who knows? ALL boats will eventually drop below $100K but we are talking about 6/19/08 right? Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word "forever" but I was playing off your use of the word. You can't lump all straight bottoms in one category. AS OF THIS DATE, I would not consider letting my boat go for under $100K. Call me stupid - whatever. A couple of the straight bottoms I have seen that went below $100K, I wouldn't have touched. Looked at two of them in person before I purchased mine. Money pits, and they were supposedly "fresh".

Agreed, TS TG prices are coming down but this boat is still the cheapest listed by far. Like I said, the exception, not the rule.

I don't see you stating it won't be worth under $100k?
What you said is FAR from a stupid statement.

And I agree, if it was such a deal, it'd be sold.
FACT: The good ones don't last.

According to the other guys, this boat hasn't had a refresh. It also has little engines in it. What is it, like a 78mph boat.

An 02 TS with 525's and XR's can only hit 85 on a good day.

Just my opinion. If it was such a good deal than it would have sold all ready.

I saw an 02 with 575's sell for 179 a while back. I thought that was a reasonable price since it had a trailer.

No one has stillcommented yet on wether this boat even has a trailer. That factors into the low price also I think.

All BS aside, does anyone know anything about this one? I am sure there is a thread somewhere. Not much gets past this crew.

The more I think about it the more it pisses me off. Guys come on here make statemnt that alot of T/S are in the 140k price point and there are none. I'll bet most of you don't even own a Cigarette let alone a boat. Wish full thinking is what it is. My boat has been completely rerigged by Ocean Performance and is much better shape then boats that are 7 years newer, so am I stupid for putting money into the boat...yes and no. I know what I have and it has been worry free but can I get my money back no way. I would sell it cheap if I could buy a T/S in the same condition for under 150k. But I am tired of people with no boats trying to get these boats down to a point they can afford!

I have actually had 5 boats in the last year. And I have kept one and am closing the deal on another right now. I buy them right all the time and make a little money on the side. Regardless of WHAT THEY ARE WORTH, there is always, WHAT CAN THEY BE BOUGHT FOR.

Don't get offended, I am only just making conversation.

Has anybody even checked to see if this boat was actually a scam or not.
