Default Vice production

Not that i am in the market for one, but seemed like a limited production run. Anyone know how many were actually made? I've only seen a blue & white one & a red/yellow/green one, both in mags.

I spoke to Tim from Cigarette last week and he said it was out of production, I was interested in one. (would have been perfect for my lake..candlewood in CT)

Unfortunately, the Vice was too expensive to build in comparison to the 38 & 39 TG's. You still have all the same systems in a 30' package versus a 38' package. In my opinion, most buyers that were looking at Cigs wanted something larger than 30'.

The same fate has happened to the Gladiator. Tim G from Cig told us the seamless hull/deck construction took many more hours to construct and most buyers would move up to a TG anyway.

They are around if you look for them but it was a low production boat. There was a 525 one built with a watermelon paint job but most were 496 HO boats. For those who want a 30 Cigarette there is always the Mystique both in T/S and straight bottom design.

One Vice was destroyed in Katrina (silver/red) but it make come back to life in the salvage market.

Speaking of Mystiques', how come the one from Canada has listed on OSO not sold?

Anyone know of any problems?

I was considering looking at that boat pretty serious if mine sold.

The 30 was supposed to be an "entry level boat" for first time buyers. It was to only come with 496's but I think Phil put 525's into one. I think ony 5 were built. Like others said, Skip scrapped the project after sales were horribly low and the cost of production was high.

I'm sure if someone wanted a new one they'd build it for a price.

i'm suprised a 30' doesnt fit more people, for me it is the perfect boat, i could have looked at top guns the same yr or a few years older than my mystique but i wanted no part in the extra 8'...... the 30 is the perfect size for me...... for now.....!

Danny owned two 30 Vices before Phil built him the baby blue 42X- Powerboat Magazine boat. The 2nd 30 had 525's but he never took delivery of the boat since the 42X was in the pipeline. The 30-525 boat was advertised for like 290K when it was for sale which was insane then.

Rephrase that last line,

"u guys don't want to believe how bad it is out there!"

Guys with 15-20 year old boats that were 150K new still think they are worth 100K because they did new vinyl, new trailer tires and a tune-up!
